never really heard of people going from bypass to a sleeve revision. dont really get how that works because a sleeve is basically getting rid of 85% of your stomach and giving you a sleeve. Bypass is even more restrictive with a smaller pouch but the other part of the stomach remains. So they just removed that other part of the stomach i am guessing?

I’ve had a bit of regain the past few months. 15lbs I just met with my nutritionist who I haven’t seen since I had the surgery to buckle down and start losing again.

I so hear you!...im in the exact same phase as you are. We both are backsliding due to old problems and just plain old life getting in the way. First of all....give yourself a break. I literally weighed myself this evening after feeling like i was back up to my old weight. But of course that is all in my head...I was at my maintenence weight and doing just fine. We forget that we need to trust the surgery as well.
That said...it's always good to do a mind and body reset. I was thinking about treating myself just like i did after about 3 months after my surgery where i was cautious about everything. Try looking new angles...
Personally, i think im having problems with balancing my exercise with my calories. In other words, im eating too much because my mind thinks i need to eat more after working out so much. So...that needs to get worked on as well...

That said...these forums are gold! ...i havent been here a while myself, but i know that the ppl and information here is THE best in the world!

(2018) I was around 211 when I got pregnant and delivered at 240. I still had elevated blood pressure throughout my pregnancy. I also did have gestional diabetes so I was induced at 37 weeks & 3days. With my second(2020) I was 220 when I got pregnant and delivered at 240 again. He is now 14 months and I'm 139lbs. So it did take me a lot longer to loose the weight, but I was only 22 when I got the surgery. I don't regret taking longer to loose the weight.

I'm a guy but hope this helps. This came up as one of those "memories" timeline photos - MAY 2019 vs MAY 2020 on the same day. Surgery is a helpful tool, but you have to put in work as well! (VSG not bypass - but same concept)

first picture was me before I started my six-month supervised diet (2014). I think I was at my highest weight ever. Second picture (from 2017) is of me when I was two years out of surgery (this was before I had my skin removal surgery, though...I had that in Aug 2018 and March 2019). Last one was of me on my 60th birthday (last year). I've put on some weight since the 2017 picture - but excess skin is gone!

I had to stop partaking, I was honest with my Bariatric Team and I stopped smoking. It's been awhile and I don't have any desire to resume the habit again. I feel better, breathing is great and I'm learning to cope with anxiety in other ways. I want to maximize the opportunity of the sleeve w/o complications of old behaviors.

kate_0329 reacted to mrsroyale in Looking for some cheerleaders!
    Hello everyone!
I haven't posted in this forum in...ever? So, hi! I have my RNY in June 2017 with the hope that my weight loss would help my PCOS and help us conceive a second child. I am happy to report that our mission was a success and I am now 4 week postpartum! Our baby boy was born 8/25 Now, the next part of the mission beguns, which is losing the weight I gained during pregnancy. I was able to keep it on the low side, only gaining about 30-35lbs, most of which are now gone...however, I still have -at least- 7lbs I need to lose to put me at a healthy BMI. Any extra weight I lose would be a very nice surprise and be very welcome, but my initial goal is to get back to a healthy BMI. After 9 months of not really paying much attention to how much food I put in my body I am finding it hard to get back into it, so I need some cheerleaders...mostly people who can hold me accountable (although I should be hding myself accountable rather than hoping others will help keep me on track)...So anyway...any support and encouraging words will make me very happy!
Also...if anyone has any questions about pregnancy after RNY, I will be more than happy to answer!!!
Stay safe and have a wonderful day!
    Veronica

I was 11 months out of surgery when I found out I was pregnant with my first. I am now 3 years post op and pregnant with baby #2. For both pregnancies it took one month after stopping the pill.

I had surgery in May of 2017. My highest weight was 327lbs I made it down to 211 and then was pregnant with my first 10 months post op. I'm around 230 but I'm also pregnant again. I'm hoping to really kick it in gear after this baby
  17. Thanks

Yes! Kick it into high gear. I should have started as soon as I was done breastfeeding. I was at goal (165), then gained up to 205 with the first one. I never made it back down to goal, then got pregnant again, and got up to 260 with that one.
It took me all the way until last August, weighing 272 (almost to my presurgery weight of 288) to finally get a little serious about weight loss...not that serious, though. I've "only" lost 50 pounds over the last year (8 of those pounds was with a diet reset that I started last week). I could kick myself for not trying to get any off after the first baby...the hill wouldn't have been as high. Oh well, you live and you learn. You'll jump right on it, as soon as you're healthy enough!

I found out I was pregnant at 11 months post OP from the sleeve. I ended up gaining 17lbs during the pregnancy. 28 weeks you have to be tested for gestational diabetes. I didn't want to drink the glucola drink so I opted to test my blood sugars. At 34 weeks they gave me the diagnosis of gestational diabetes, because I had slightly high fasting sugars (100, when the cut off is 94) they wanted me to get extra ultrasounds and meet with a high risk OB. Mind you I was livid at this point. There was already talk of being induced early for high blood pressure (130/80s which was norm, for me even before pregnancy) and now they wanted me to go on metformin. I had a growth ultrasound at 35 weeks, nugget was only 5lbs 2oz. I was induced at 37 weeks and 3 days, gave birth to a 5 lbs 6oz baby girl. She's 10 weeks old now, breastfeeding like a champ! I've lost 28lbs, wanting to loose another 50, but not wanting it to affect my BM supply.

kate_0329 reacted to BlueCrush in Is it possible to build muscle after the sleeve? I'm about to find out.
A bit about me: I had the sleeve surgery in December 2017 period. I've lost a total of 181 pounds since last May, and now I'm looking to gain some muscle mass. I'm currently sitting at 225lbs pounds and 6'2.5" tall.
So many unanswered questions of not been able to find good responses to. Things such as how to start eating any calorie surplus now that I want to add muscle. Will I be able to eat enough to add muscle? Follow me on this thread and I will track my journey for any others that may follow the same path.

kate_0329 reacted to YeahOkay31 in BMI Goal: is your BMI goal to be healthy or overweight?
BMI is a flawed system of measurement---I am sure you have heard that multiple times. It is however a good estimation tool as where you should be. Not so great if you are a serious body builder. But most of us are not.
My personal goal is 175 lbs. which is still overweight for me in terms of BMI. My surgeon's goal for me is between 165-179. Why? Because you have to account for 10 pounds of loose skin that ain't going nowhere without surgery, also body frame counts. Measure your wrists, there are charts on the Internet that can help you identify if you are "big boned" --yes, that is really a thing. People with a larger frame can usually get away with an extra 10 pounds above their max healthy BMI.
And lastly, there are multiple ways to measure health. How is your blood pressure, your triglycerides, sugar? Pain in you feet, knees? Can you jog around the block a few times without stopping? All these are a much better indicator of health than a number on a scale.
    ✌🏽All best.
