  1. So quickly though? Neither my Surgeon or Dr suggested that could be the cause. My surgeon said not to worry it will get better but without knowing what the hell is going on it's frustrating. Th inability to laugh and get that good feeling from it is a little worrying tbh. I knew something wasn't right the day I came out of hospital but kept putting it down to " it was a traumatic experience and my body has been through a lot"... I have read about changers the brain can have from being under an anaesthetic and it's scary. I just hope that somehow I can be my old self again..
  2. It just seemed to have happened so quickly though like within a day or two.. I don't have a psychologist that I see unfortunately.
  3. Ohhhh ok... I asked for the band but he surgeon refused lol

  7. Its not a rude statement at all!!.. if you believe in it that's ok I was just saying i didn't need a fairy tale thing to help me cause I had a great surgeon.. I believed in my surgeon I suppose u could say!.. There is no proof what so ever to say " your god" exists anyway.. I believe in what is here and now!.. all the best to you [emoji4]
  8. I had an awesome surgeon that performed such a good job I didn't need a fairy tale "god" to help with me.. I went back to work two weeks later doing an extremely physical job and have had no issues. Wasn't tired just a a little fatigued for a couple of days.
  9. Pinterest!!... I rely on that so often.
  10. I never had acids before my vsg at all... Unfortunately I have developed it after I don't like taking the medication as I remember a Dr on the radio saying how bad it is to take long term. All I hope is , is that my brain remembers that my stomach doesn't need so much acid anymore and adjusts itself.
  11. Has anyone else's had feelings of emotional numbness after an op , mine being a VSG?.. Literally the day after my op I didn't feel right. No happiness although I know I'm happy but can't feel it?... Irritated lot and quick to get angry?.. I have spoken to my Gp , my dietician and my surgeon and it doesn't seem anyone can pin point it. I should feel excited about some things but can't!!.. no pleasure or that awesome feeling. It's annoying to say the least. I'm nearly 12 weeks post op and it's not getting better. It's not food related as I had it soooo early on. Something the anesthetic did maybe?? Anyone ??

  15. I'm nearly 11 weeks post op and I'm just flat and emotionless!... I'm very angry as well. I can't laugh properly or feel pleasure it's sooooo bizarre. I had it from the day I came out of hospital. I have seen my dr and my surgeon and both are a bit confused as to what it is. I was told about hormones etc but it still doesn't add up. My husband is very patient with me and keeps telling me it will be ok. It's prob a symptom of depression but I hope to God I get my old self back.. it's nothing to do with food or missing out etc... something inside has really changed. Have come to a halt in the last couple of weeks. I had a very fast recovery with no concerns or real issues. No pain relief needed after day two and back to work 2 weeks later.
