That should be it. There was probably a nutritionist that advised what/how you should be eating or modifying, working out and excersizes, sample food plans, different types of Protein, etc.
It is up to you to implement the change in your diet, they want to see progress over the 6 months. I think you'll be ok.

For encouragement purposes to those like myself, Let's all remember that different people will lose at different rates due to their starting weight..... I'm simply putting that out there for newbies who are on this forum like myself and get somewhat discouraged because I only lost 24 lbs in one month and someone else may have lost 45 lbs in a month. But, my BMi on my day of surgery was 34 with a weight of 219 lbs and that other persons BMI may have been 48 with a weight of 315 or whatever ( made up numbers people just using this as an example). So, naturally they have more body fat to lose and it's gonna come off quicker. So, moral to this story don't be discouraged if you are not comparable to some of these amazing weight losses, look at their stats. I would come on here daily my first week post op n be like dang, how did she lose 18 lbs in one week. I only lost 9 lbs. But if I were never sleeved, I would never have lost 9 lbs in a week. Be proud of your results . That is what I had to learn to do. Post pics of your journey so that you can see your progress on a pic... it makes a big difference. As long as you are losing pounds and/ or inches , you are rocking it.

I'm 35, 5'2 and 220lb. I had my consult on tue. My doc makes you go through all the NUT counciling, psych eval and everything your insurance requires before you get the consult. I am hoping they have already submitted my stuff to the ins. They told me to plan on anywhere from 3 to 5 weeks. I'm so anxious! What surgery are you having? I'm having the RNY. On Friday I will know if my insurance has approved my surgery! I am so nervous about this. I hope it's approved. I also have to do another sleep study per my pcp so that I can get the right cpap machine. I meet with my surgeon for clearance on the 24th! I will be on a month pre - op diet. Surgery is scheduled for February 20th. I am so excited and nervous. There are moments where I am a little scared as well. Overall the time is coming up soon and I am ready for the rebirth of me!

I'm going to a say what I ALWAYS say in these threads when a pre op asks the ol' "How much weight did you lose in XX amount of time?":
The answers will vary wildly depending on age, gender, starting weight, activity levels, medications, underlying illnesses, whether you're a revision etc.
The older you are, the slower the losses.
The less you have to lose, the slower your losses.
Men lose much faster than women (and we hate them for it).
Revisions lose slower as a rule.
Obviously someone who is limited with activitiy may lose slower.
That being said, once you're post op, try not to get into the trap of comparison. It is a waste of good energy that can be used elsewhere and is counter productive to your goals. People have a tendency to have VERY unrealistic weight loss expectations with these surgeries for some reason.
My answer? 17 pounds the first month.

I know this has been posted before but I really want to get the word out. I was approved yesterday for two Protein shakes a day, every day, for 11 months. How's that for some math!! Plus my Vitamins, scar reducer, l-glutamine!!! For free through insurance. Apply as soon as you have a date, it takes 2 weeks approval and then they send over for a prescription from your doctor and ship it off. http://www.insurenutrition.com that's it
