So a few days ago I posted how I had spoken to a rep from my insurance company when they said I was approved and I was very happy at that but now more so when I received the letter in the mail seeing i am approved just made it all so real that it is actually going to happen on the 30th. Nine more days to go and I will be officially joining the losers bench . So excited as I get ready to continue on this incredible journey.

I'm New. And I'm just sooo amazed by everyone's stories and different topic's. I'm so glad that I have found this! To make a long story short, I've been on the heavy side all my life. But this is the biggest I've ever been and I'm soooo over it. 330 pounds is my heaviest. I'm ready to loose this unwanted weight and keep it off and get healthy. I've been doing a lot of research on the Gastric Sleeve and I think that it is the best in my eyes. I have a close friend that had it done last year and she looks GREAT. I went to my seminar and filled out the application last week and I got a call Friday saying that my insurance would cover it and I knew they would because I work for a local hospital in my city. And I'm going to get it done at their weight loss facility. And she asked when did I want to set my appointment to meet with a surgeon to go over everything. Soo you guys I'm excited My appointment is February 6. She asked did I prefer a certain surgeon but I haven't done any research on the surgeons I've been doing so much research on the Gastric Sleeve itself. I'm from Memphis, Tn and are there any sleever's in Memphis? I'm having my surgery done at The center for surgical weight loss at St. Francis Hospital.

So back home. For those of you that said the pain was tolerable I'm super jealous. Definately not that fun for me. Technically I'm just over 24 hours so I shouldn't complain. Lol. I did have moments of what the hell did I do. Coming out of surgery was hard I had a lot of pain especially in the chest left side thought I was having a heart attack. Test came back fine. I also didn't expect it to be so painful to drink anything OMG!!!! Good news like everyone said it gets better hang in there. I haven't thrown up so that's also a plus. Nauseous here and there. And the pain to drink it getting better. One day at a time right? . Thanks for everyones support, prayers and guidance. It definately helped. Let the new life begin. HW 431 (can't believe I'm even admitting that) Sw. 370 Cw 360 at least it's going in the right direction.

Thanks for sharing. It really helps to read anything about the experience. I'm doing preop clear liguid diet today and have surgery tomorrow @ 7:30 am. I m quite nervous. Helped to read your post! Thanks

If I were in your shoes I would do what ever I had to do get to that weight. I wish you all the best of luck..

I'm 5'11 and 246 I need to be 255 to just be at 35.6 and yes I have 3 years of documented history from dr and he said that he would do whatever he could to get me to have it.

A lot has been going on since I started this journey. Good and wonderful things. My ex husband and I got remarried a month ago having a ceremony Sept 22 2017. I am officially a GLAMma My first granddaughter was born December 5th.
My first couple of visits with my surgeon weren't that great. He put me on a Protein Shake raw vegetable diet. The first month was good the second month in I was getting nauseous so I added fish and Chik'n (vegetarian chicken) to my diet. Invested in a fit bit which has came in handy. Lost 16 lbs so
Far. I have my Pre op meeting on the 13th
Meet with the surgeon on the 14th
My surgery date Jan 24. He decided the sleeve which is what I wanted in the beginning Nervous and anxious. As always leaving it in Gods hands

My surgery was denied yesterday. Today my surgeon Dr. McBride at UNMC did a peep to peer and got my denial reversed!!! Man oh man she is good and fast. I'm thrilled byond belief!!! Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes!! I'll be doing you on the losers bench soon!!!

usually they use the weight from your first visit. I would ask this questions specifically to both your insurance company and the surgical team.
The wait if leveraged effectively, really allows you to build great habits. So once you find out, leverage the heck out of this time to break through.

My journey has officially begun! I'm so happy to have finally joined the losers bench My Doctor said everything went will and the he found that I had a hernia so he repaired it as well. Therefore I had to have 5 incision instead of 4. Thank you to all of guys for helping me on this adventure. I really appreciate it.
