RaginCajunErica reacted to Rose1up! in One Year Surgery Update
I hit my surgiversary on January 6, 2017 with 100 lbs lost. I had a total of 4 surgeries last year which slowed my weightloss down. One of those surgeries was losing my gallbladder on Oct 1, 2016. Since my diet was small portions with high Protein, low carbs, and low fat, it wasn't a problem for me after my gallbladder surgery. I incorporate my daily activities with walking and when the weather is good, I ride my bike. Since my weight came off at a slower rate, I don't have a lot of sagging skin. I need to tone my arms. That's about all. A nurse practitioner told me that I need to only eat Protein and not worry about my veggies because I get nutrients from my Vitamins. I think that is bad advice. We get told all the time, protein first, then veggies, then carbs. That is what I follow. My protein is sitting at 60-65 a day. Since I'm high protein, I have felt so good through this process. I throw in my Fiber by eating oatmeal bars or chia seeds or veggies. This has been a great journey. It's gone by extremely fast. We all have our habits whether we admit them or not. Just be sure you always stick to the reason why you chose to have weightloss surgery. The best advice I can give you, is keep the inside of your body as clean as possible. Indulge in special occasions but get right back to your basics. Be sure to take your Vitamins daily and if you fall off the wagon, go back to your basics and look through all your nutritional paperwork that you were given. Don't ever give up on yourself once you hit your goal. Stay clear, stay strong, think healthy. If you've come this far, don't ever fall back. We always had this smaller version of ourselves inside the bigger version, so don't forget that you don't want to cover up your smaller version. People will get jealous of you and they will ask you, are you losing weight, it's your choice if you tell them the truth. Be careful of who you tell, as they may tell everyone. Remember to choose your food choices wisely and if you get bored of Protein shakes, buy the powders and make your own. Research other protein supplements to get your protein in. Continue your journey and pride and reward yourself for your accomplishments!
I have 10 more lbs to go until I hit my goal and I know I'll accomplish it. Thank you for reading my post. I love myself and so glad my inner self is here!

Give it another week or two. I don't know where you're at stage wise with food. I went through a period of intense hunger but it passed. I'm at 6.5 weeks out.

I was sleeved on 11/22 and was never diagnosed with sleep apnea before surgery either but after surgery every time I fell asleep they would have to place the oxygen on me. Hoping this is something that will go away along with the pounds. I'm 3 1/2 weeks out of surgery and down 16lbs. Hw 239 Sw 234 CW 218

Really wish my husband wouldn't have made the comment "I think your boobs are getting smaller."
It wasn't to be mean and he thought it would be a compliment so I didn't bark at him but I told him I didn't want my boobs to go so if he notices the boobs getting smaller then don't tell me. Don't tell me about my boobs and butt.. but tell me about my legs, arms, face and belly.
This made me think - we should start a list of things of our husbands/wives/partners to NOT mention
My sweet husband, he tried to recover "oh but I like them I like them a lot."
Pppffttt.. yeah, sure ya do! LOL!

@@diana89131 - Now what? Celebrate and live your life with new found enthusiasm and be thankful. You look hot and you should be proud of yourself. You women are just too dang hard on yourselves (hint: for 3 months, don't read any women's magazines, and you may lose the disomorphic body image issue). You are in the 9 category in my book, so do you want to spend $10,000+ and spend weeks in pain oozing in compression garments to get to 10? I don't think you need it all, unless there is excess skill that is causing a problem health wise. (NOTE: I'm single, I get the embarrassment when you get frisky with someone the first time and I take off my compression shirt and there is excess skin, but no one has yelled "ick" and run out of the room screaming either).

    Hi everyone!!
Just wanted to share some success! I've actually been really down lately about how I look. I keep saying I look the same and I still have so much more to go.
I wish someone had prepared me for the head games involved with this process. It takes a while for your head to catch up to how far you have come. My boyfriend suggested I do some shopping and it was the first time I really said to myself "wow, if I stopped here I would not be unsatisfied" and MEANT it.
Target shirt in a MEDIUM (whaaaaaaat! I was in a TIGHT 3xl), Uniqlo jeans in a 29 (they're really stretchy Ive been wearing a 10 lately and my waist is 33 1/2 inches)!

Anyway point of this is...take some time to let yourself enjoy your success. It's so easy to become hyper critical of yourself.

I live in Washington, but just spent three weeks in Maui. Three gloriously warm weeks! Although I did have a few times here and there in the evening when I would get cold, it was the warmest I have been since surgery.… But I had to come home to Washington. We're supposed to get snow tomorrow, I'm terrified of how cold I will be

RaginCajunErica reacted to LipstickLady in Husband says he doesn't like skinny women...WTH!
I'd personally tell my husband to kiss my butt and then I'd help him pack. His insecurities shouldn't block your path to good health.
He might prefer heavier women, but I prefer smart confident men.
