    Montefiore metroplus insured

Hi there! I was sleeved at Monte on 1/18/17. Even if it means calling EVERY DAY, multiple times, stay on top of them! My process was elongated an extra 2 months because of their disorganization. I also filed several complaints through their customer service, which does reach the coordinators of the bariatric program. My surgery went amazingly well so no need for worry there, but definitely be persistent on the administrative end. Best of luck!

    Sleeved yesterday

I was sleeved on 1/18. I had a lot of nausea and some of the other symptoms you described as well. For gas, I took Gas X strips which I ordered from Amazon, but try the drugstore. When my stomach would get upset or I'd feel discomfort I'd sip slower. If it become excessive please reach out to your doc Remember, it does take time for the anesthesia and such to work it's way out your system, plus your "new" tummy is readjusting to every thing that's gone on. Wishing you a speedy recovery & the best of luck! -Chrissy

    Chewable and Liquid Vitamins

    Thanks so much@MissJDVSG ! I'll give them a try
  5. Hi All! I was sleeved on January 18th. I'm looking for some recommendations for a good multi Vitamin, Calcium plus D, and Iron. My current iron and calcium pills make me nauseous and so my doc suggested looking for chewable or liquid forms, even a pre natal, but no brand was mentioned. I need 1500mg of calcium. If I can find a 2 - in - 1 or 3 - in - 1 that'd be great. Thanks in advance! -Chrissy

    Lactose-Intolerance & Food Allergy Issues

Hi there! I have similar issues and used Jay Robb's Egg White Protein powder. I personally favor the chocolate over the vanilla. Try to get the sample packets at Vitamin Shoppe, as it's a little pricey. I mixed with 8oz Lactaid (label suggests 11 but tasted fine to me) during my pre op diet. Best of luck! ***5 DAYS POST OP***

I'm a little over a week post-op. Gas X strips were my life saver! Also stay hydrated, check with your dr if you can have some Milk of Magnesia to get things moving. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    No one understands!

Hi Angela! I'm Chrissy, from NYC and just turned 25 less than a month ago I'm just 6 days post-op VSG I can relate to how you feel. I gained a ton of weight after a bad relationship, depression, and anxiety. Then after gaining that weight, I gained more, all because I was so upset with myself for getting so heavy to start with. Sometimes things felt like a downward spiral, honestly like I hated the world. I was annoyed by friends who could shop anywhere, jealous of these girls on TV and social media with "perfect bodies", angry that other people would channel their energy into other things while I sat and ate. To be straightforward - I hated myself and I was so, so angry. Now I'm nowhere near perfect, but over the 6 months of preparing myself for surgery I've been working on ME in every aspect. It's not easy, some days I have a horrible attitude and go back to self loathing. BUT it's a process, one that you deserve to give yourself time to go through. This is your journey, and it's not meant for anyone to understand. I don't even understand my own! But the point is that you're taking steps to becoming a happier and healthier you, and that's already something to be proud of! Hey, like Kanye says, "just let me be great!" I'm having 2nd thoughts!

You can do it! I was a nervous wreck before surgery, from the pre op diet to going under, I was having a million racing thoughts and second guessing everything. I'm just 6 DAYS post op, so I was in your shoes less than a week ago. One thing that helped me was reminding myself that I made this decision when I was in a good date of mind. Rest assured in the knowledge you've equipped yourself with in making that informed decision. You'll do great! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
