    Portioning cups question

I'm 3 years out, and still going strong! When I eat out, I just let my pouch do the talking. It has not failed me yet! I look over the menu carefully to see what I can eat and tolerate. I still lean towards soft foods when I eat out, just to be on the safe side. Dumping syndrome is still very real, but I enjoy myself being picky about what I eat! It's cool!

Discouraged: Need to get back on track!

I'm sorry for your troubles. You can get back on track again. Reset your pouch! Go back to the beginning with liquids the first week, then soft foods the next 2weeks. Going hard in the gym will help you relieve the stress that's setting you back. Concentrate on what you and Work or yourself. That's the best thing to do right now. Good luck!

2.5 years, I'd think you could eat pretty much anything. Are you at goal?

My favorite thing to make is chili with ground beef or turkey, beans, tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, and seasoning.

My second favorite is Salmon (cooked on a skillet with a bit of seasoning) and butternut squash

  14. When I had mine, my doctor told me that I had to excise! Going hard! His exact words! I hit the gym! I can only eat 4oz of food per meal, and I'm 2years post op. I lost 140lbs it's still off. You might have to reset your pouch by doing liquids the first week n soft foods the second week. Stay way from high carbs!! Don't go over 10 per food. Good luck!!!

    2015 Who's ready?

Hi! I had my surgery 01/06/2015 and I feel great . Weight is still down but not without 1 or 2 bumps. I started grazing. (Eating small meals all day) because my appetite had kicked in but I was unable to eat more than a little bit at a time. Once I realize what I was doing, I was able to gain control over my appetite and maintain by adding in liquids between meals. I swim and exercise three times a week. I make sure that vegetables and soft fish is a part of my daily meals which are small to begin with. There are a lot of foods that I can't eat because Of texture or thickness or being to greasy. Popcorn is my life I love it and can tolerate it. It's the perfect snack or meal for me! Which ever I want it to be at the time. I just go with the flow. The surgery worked really well for me and I count myself as being one of the lucky one to have little or no major drama or set backs. I still have to work at it, but I went into this knowing that this was my second chance at life and I'm not afraid to do the leg work. Nothing is easy in life, but it don't have to be to hard either with a made up mind. Be encouraged my friends!! Fighting!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. You have to do it for yourself! Then they will see that it was the right choice for you. If you are confident and positive, they will be too. I didn't ask my family for support! I expected it! And I got it! I did it for me by believing that it was what I needed. It was the best I thing that I have ever did for myself! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
