  1. :help:Let's see...three weeks in, and the Doc is telling me I need at least 2 protein shakes a day. I'm so confused over it all..am I making this harder than it is? There is animal protein, soy protein, vegetable protein...geez I could go on and on....is one protein the same as the other? Is one healthier than another? And of course trying to find all of this out on a weekend. I just know this smart group can tell me
  2. Kim, I did want to mention to you about the itching.....when your incisions start to heal.....Joy says that her are starting to itch on the inside, where she can't reach them with her nails. Just about to drive her cwazy...! (where did susan put that little brown bottle)
  3. As Archie said, holding his beloved Edith in his arms, "Edith, when I'm this close to youse, I can't see anything but your beeeutiful face." So exercise those face muscles...
  4. Paula, yes we do, just not often enough. Jacqui, gave up what? years ago...? *evil grin*

Diane, the new office will be at Medical City Dallas, but over in Building C, room C670, I believe. And they tell me that they will have an xray right there in their offices, so that's good.
  6. Ah, yes, better living thru pharmacuticals. LOL Just kiddin', Susan. IMHO what this world needs more of is people with a lightness in their step and laughter on their lips. Thank you for improving my day.
  7. OH, it says, "Blow OUT"....... I gotta start reading slower.....or better.
  8. I don't know what it is, but I want some of what Susan's been drinking....
  9. MsJoy here - I just wanted to thank you all for the words of support and praise. One of these days I'm going to register in here and make a few posts of my own. Until then, perhaps between all of us we can make this world a little bit lighter place.
  10. 225......then set a new goal!
  11. Hmmmm, I think you should have your hubby go over and set his momma straight. Tell her that if she doesn't want to talk to you, fine, but if you EVER want to see your grandkids again, you better change your attitude, NOW! Period! (I sound really bad, don't I?)
  12. Hey Diane, from the posts on the Nooky thread, it makes you do a lot more than SMILE.:whoo::cheer2:
  13. But I look really silly in the little skirt and the pom poms...:cheer2:
  14. Ruthie, I was just at Dr Jayaseelan's office yesterday and the support group meets the first Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm in the cafe area at Medical City Dallas. That's in Building A. MsJoy and I will be there on the 2nd of February. Medical City Dallas is just south of the High 5 on Central Expressway, take the Forrest Lane exit and (for you) turn right on Forrest. Go to the next light and turn right, take the next right into Medical City.
  15. Mae, it depends on which band you have. Joy has the Vanguard band and I believe it has a total capacity of 10 cc, so her doctor starts off with a 5-6 cc fill. I've read about the smaller bands that start off with a 1.5 fill.
  16. PB is a "productive burp" from eating too fast and you sort of spit some back up with some really slimey mucous.
  17. Hey! I think it's great! And the best part is...with your band, you can have one! You just won't be able to drink the whole thing.....LOL:tea:
  18. Janie, check with Dr Jayaseelan. I know he does fills for just about everybody and for only $50 if he does them in his office. His website is www.texaslapbandcenter.com His office is at Medical City Dallas. That is just south of the Central Expressway/High 5 intersection.
  19. Jodie, congratulations! Annette, how much is "lost weight yippy"? Go, Trish, Go, Trish, Go, go, Go Trish!!!!!!!
  20. Kim, we were at his office. I couldn't believe it! We walked through the door a little after 1:00 pm and the place was packed. I'll let her know that her fan club has officially started. Take it easy and use this time to just heal. Don't worry about losing, that will come later. Welcome to the land of the banded!:clap2:
  21. Skater boys??? hehehe
  22. Well, Day, my DW had two C-sections with our two children, so I'd say this was more like a late morning sleep in on a Saturday morning.
  23. Kim, warm broth and milkshakes....they did the trick for MsJoy. By Monday you should be feeling somewhat more chipper. Congratulations on your band!
  24. Cheri, You rock, girl!!!! :rockon:Way to go!!!! My DW had something similar happen to her the other day. One of her old bras...she had to skip over to the third (3rd)(count 'em, 1, 2, 3) hook to get it to feel right.
  25. Bonnie, glad to see your doing well. Joy had her two week post-op visit today and she's down 13 lbs...even after making her Carnation Instant Breakfasts with ice cream...LOL Her first real meal after 3 weeks of liquids.....garlic mashed potatoes from Chili's. Three more weeks to her first fill.
