  1. As in the old country song, "Where have you been?" Welcome back...
  2. KLynn, I know it seems like the liquids thing is going to go on forever but it's only for a short time. Compare that to dieting for YEARS and it doesn't seem so long, huh? Good luck on your journey, hon, and many happy losses to you.
  3. Donna, I found a list of MD doctors who do Lapband at http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/bariatric+surgeons+in+maryland.html I hope that will help you get started with your search. Come back and keep us informed....
  4. Dayne, If you will check out the "Lapband Complications" thread I'm sure you will find plenty of people who feel your pain and can relate to your experience. They might even be able to offer some very valuable advice.
  5. Pat, it looks great! I remember the Police bikes looking like that down in Houston. And I've seen times that I wished I HAD a reverse on the RoadKing...
  6. Heather, never mind....I think I got my answer....ROTFL
  7. Sorry Heather, I gotta ask.....use your what? LOL
  8. Hi Tia, welcome to LBT. My wife is the one that has been banded, as of Dec 28th. Dr Jayaseelan is her doctor. He's at Medical City Dallas, www.texaslapbandcenter.com He has been great. Her surgery was at Pine Creek Medical Center. They were all very professional. Joy hasn't has a bit of trouble yet, but she hasn't has a fill yet, either. Good luck on your search.
  9. Hi Betje, I would suggest that you slow waaaaaaay down when you eat. Take VERY small bites and absolutely stay away from ANY kind of bread.
  10. THANKS PENNI... Very nice, JaLynn. We should all get together and do a BANDSTERS FOR CHARITY ride.
  11. Lisa, welcome and congratulations! I'm not the one banded, it's the DW.
  12. :wow2: :cheer2::wow2: :cheer2::wow2::cheer2: :wow2: :cheer2::wow2: :cheer2: GO SHARI!!!!!!! :) :Banane52: :Banane45:
  13. Elisa, go to a health food store, something like GNC, and they will be glad to show you AAAAAAAAAAAAAALL of the protein drinks to choose from. Animal, vegetable, soy, whey.....they are all proteins. You decision.
  14. Well, JaLynn, I see a motorcycle with a lady standing next to it..... What year is yours? Mine is a '98, 95th Anniversary Edition. Only regret I have is it is an 80 cubic inch motor. All the new ones are 88 and you can upgrade them to a 95. But mine sounds great!!!!
  15. My DW really liked the Cream soups....Cream of Potato, Cream of Mushroom, Cream of Chicken, Cream of Chicken & Mushroom. She also has been partaking of several servings of sugar free pudding.
  16. no, you shouldn't. It is just there, around your stomach, but it doesn't have any Fluid in it so it is very loose. Some people DO have a bit of restriction, but it is mostly due to swelling right after surgery. My wife was put on liquids for two weeks after surgery. Mushies for two weeks and then work your way into solids.
  17. :omg: Nice bike, Pat. I'm impressed! If it wasn't about 35 degrees outside I'd be ready for a ride....
  18. But you see, ladies, I get something out of all of this, too. Someone to share forever, together with...
  19. OK, the Dad reporting in....as we all know, with the first child EVERYONE goes hog wild overboard. The biggest highchair, the best carseat, the $100 outfits that they outgrow in about a month. But you always have those "things" that you and everyone else forgot. So, a well funded gift card might come in handy????? And in response to all of you who are thinking, "Just like a man..." A keepsake lace hankerchief that is made into a cap for the baby. If the baby is a boy, you gift it to his wife at their wedding. If a girl, she wears it as "something old" at her wedding. A keepsake clay mold for baby's hand print. And a keepsake picture frame.
  20. I can see it now.....Dear (says Pat's DH) this is Reverend Smith....! ROTFL
  21. WoooHoooo, go Jenna!!!! And Sunni, you mean they actually DO have motorcycles in Amarillo??? hehehe
  22. Kim, that is some good information and exactly the kind we were looking for. Thank you...... Anne, I'm with your nutritionist. Joy says, just let me at the food, ok...? LOL JK Thank you for your help.
  23. Jack, you da' man!!!! I knew if there was an answer out there, I would get it from all of the great people here at LBT. Thank you, sir.... And thank you, Eileen. I feel better about it now.
  24. No, Eileen, she isn't on solids yet, just mushies. (That girl can really eat those smashed taters...hehehe)
  25. :help: Let's see...three weeks in, and the Doc is telling me I need at least 2 protein shakes a day. I'm so confused over it all..am I making this harder than it is? There is animal protein, soy protein, vegetable protein...geez I could go on and on....is one protein the same as the other? Is one healthier than another? And of course trying to find all of this out on a weekend. I just know this smart group can tell me
