NSV's for she...
Donna and Julie, done! And thank you for the anniversary wishes. I took her to Shreveport, to the boats for four days. It was great, but it's always good to get back home. Wheetsin, you got that right! She even suggested that we go to the Waffle House in Corsicana, today. But we were headed to LJS for the fish. Teresita, you'll get there, baby. Joy has been a bit down because the scale isn't moving much, but it is moving slowly down. Heck, the girl is down to the last hook on her bras. Something is bound to start showing soon.....hehehe

The Saddest Thing
Yeah, I think school was probably hell for most everybody. The fat kids, the short skinny kids (me), the slow learners, the over achievers, the cheerleaders and the athletes. All of these have their own ingrained strife. Get skinny, get bigger, learn faster, don't fail....and on and on and on. All we can do is try to help our own kids to get through it. Hold them while they cry and kick butt when we have to. Our kids are 24 and 25....

NSV's for she...
MsJoy wanted me to post this for her. We recently went to the Dallas area for some family, friends and fireworks. After spending the night at the local motel, we went next door to the Waffle House. Do you have them in your town? They are rather small, condensed little restaurants. The staff rarely comes out from behind the counter. They stand back there and shout out orders to the cook in a language only they understand. They are fairly cheap and they make some of the BEST waffles. But one of the problems with the Waffle House is that, being condensed, there isn't a lot of room. And if you have to sit at one of the booths, it's a tight fit. Which explains why we don't go in there much. But being our Anniversary (#31), MsJoy let me entertain my love of waffles. OF COURSE, the only seats left open were in a booth. I was trying to flag down one of the waitresses to get one of the tables reserved, when Joy steps over and slips into the booth. I was about to tell her that we could get a table in a few minutes, when she looks up at me and says, "No, that's ok. I fit..." ***INSERT BIG, HUGE SMILE*** The Anniversary trip was good....hehehe

3 fills and still not enough restriction
All I'll say about it is that you should be thankful that you don't have the large Vanguard band. My wife has had either 5 or 6 fills and she is up to 11 CCs. The NP told us the other day that she could go as high as 14.5cc. She's still doing liquids right now so we're not sure if she's getting any tighter or not. Time will tell.

WOW you were great last night!!
And I was thinking that vines had been spying....

Hello from Texas!
*waving* Hi Divanita, how goes it??? Yeah, Carol, I think you miiiiiiight be just a bit too tight.

Newly banded with MANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE HELP!!!
Always keep some kind of liquid at hand to sip on. You'll be on mushies in no time. No you aren't. There are others just like you. It shouldn't. Normal activities should not effect your band.
-
Newbie question...
losha, everyone is different and most of the doctors have differing diet plans. My wife was on liquids two weeks before surgery and two weeks after. Then a week of mushies before she could have "normal" food. At her first fill date she had lost 22 lbs. Since then the weight loss has been slow, but continuous.
-
Donalee
My guess would be that a "reduction" is a fill.....to reduce the size of the stoma??? That would facilitate the hair loss, me thinks.
-
No clothes that fit
RQ, just stroll off the plane in your birthday suit....then go on a shopping spree. LOL
-
Newbie question...
Yes, this is normal. Your job right now is to heal up, not lose weight... As far as feeling tight after a fill? Maybe, maybe not. My wife does for a while, then back to normal. She has had 5 or 6 fills so far and she feels that they are right on the verge of her sweet spot, but noooooot quite. She goes in Thursday for another one.

I bought WAY to much furniture!
OH YEAH, CONSENSUS! UH HUH....As I am reminded quite often, IF MOMMA AIN'T HAPPY, AIN'T NOBODY HAPPY. You catch my drift??? I have the answer to your problem, Donna. Just knock out that wall and move it back a few feet. MsJoy and I sort of did the same thing as you, but instead of buying our furniture, we built it. King size bed with headboard and footboard, two nightstands, TRIPLE dresser with custom built TRIPLE-sided mirror and an armoir. Of course, our bedroom is about 20 by 20. I love big rooms.....hehehe

Shoulder pain, looking for theories
Joy's experience has been that it hurts when she gets hungry...really hungry. Go figure!

Favorite protein powders?
My DW could never find a protein drink that she liked. We ordered some of the Unjury powder (unflavored) and she loves it. Puts it in her cereal, instant breakfast, crystal light. Just go to www.unjury.com to order.

Dr. Jayaseelan / Dallas, TX?
Kutia, just let me say that when the VERY skinny black lady named Arlene comes prancing through the door...and you're sitting there thinking, "Well, great! They send Twiggy in here to tell me that I'm fat...", remember that she was once a little over 300 herself. And yes, she has a band. And she's incredible! And tell her Randy and MsJoy said hello.

Ooops - 3rd Saturday dinner moved to 4th Saturday
OK, I'll tell you all what I just told MsJoy....I am off that day! I may have to be at work that NIGHT (at 7:00), but I AM off that day. Here's hoping that they mandatory monster doesn't bite me that night. If not, we'll be there.:whoo:  MsJoy says "HI EVERYBODY":Banane20:  Can't wait to see everybody.....BTW, how's everybody doing with their WL???? I'm up to 225.

First Fill Burning
That DonnaB is just soooooo smart.....MsJoy's Doc says 24 to 48 hours clear, thin liquids and then the rest of the week, liquids.
-
HELP! I can't stand this anymore!
cris35, how long did it take you to gain your weight? Years, maybe? Then you can do a week of liquids, can't you? How many diets have you done that you stayed on for weeks, maybe even months....years??? A week should be a walk in the park. Especially when you consider the benefits waiting for you at the end of that week.

A Big Texas Introduction
Erica, what part of Houston are you from? Joy is from Pasadena (or as we say, Stinkadena) and I use to live on the NW side of Houston....Shepard and 14th. The house I grew up in got washed away by Tropical Storm Allison, several years ago.

A Big Texas Introduction
Erica, welcome to the forum. I'm the support team and my DW (darling wife) is the banded one. We're sort of in the middle of everywhere. Halfway between Dallas and Houston (we're both from the Houston area), east of Waco, west of Louisiana (thank goodness). Ask all the questions you have, I'm sure you'll get an answer.

DFW BANDSTERS: Divanita's insurance approved!
LMAO.....think of it as liquified alligator....gator ade....yes?....no?....maybe? Well, soon enough you'll be on semi-liquids and then mushies. Maybe you can blend up a chicken breast or something. Mmmmmm, refried beans.....mashed garlic potatoes....LOL

First Fill Amounts?
The amount depends on which band you have. My wife's band is the Vanguard and her first fill was 6cc. After the last one (fourth) she was up to 9.5cc. If your band is the small one, I've heard that they go somewhere in the 2.5cc range. It's up to the staff....
