  1. Hi Christie, congratulations on getting your band and your first fill. My DW is the banded one, I'm the support team. We're over in Fairfield, but Joy was banded by Dr. J also, back in December.
  2. I murdered a squirrel because that's how I roll.....?
  3. OK, so we're going to do this on the 20th? Where are we going to do it? (No, Mickey, not that......get together for lunch....LOL)
  4. Holy Moses, Mary, you're doing great, in my humble opinion. Do this.....go pick up 9 gallons of water and try walking around with them. That is only 72 pounds! And you got rid of all that! You rock! Keep it up!
  5. Sherita, I like that quote that you use in your signature. Very powerful! MsJoy, my DW, says that she gets that feeling in the throat when she eats too fast. She feels as if it is telling her that it is backing up in there and she needs to slow waaaaaaaaaaay down.
  6. Karen, I know how you have been waiting for this and now you're going to get everything that is coming to you....LOL Congratulations!!!
  7. Dubai...? I was reading about the heavy weights that flew in for the Kentucky Derby, the other day. They all paled in comparision to the sheik from Dubai who flew in, in his personal 747 for the race. What's that old saying about "men over-compensating for some of their "short" comings"??? hehehe IT'S A JOKE, PEOPLE!!! Lighten up....
  8. Steph, after surgery, he'll be on liquids till his stomach "heals". My wife was on them for two weeks, post op. Then a week of "mushies". Solid foods were introduced slowly....then you get a fill and you start the liquids and mushies all over again....LOL Good luck you two.
  9. Lauri, how are you doing this morning? I hope your surgery went well and that you aren't TOO sore. Rest, drink, heal....
  10. Lenay, I believe the one rule that I have heard most on LBT is "If you think you're having a problem, go back on liquids for a couple of days. Give your band a chance to relax."
  11. Valentine, the only thing that I might suggest....and I know it is a killer, because my wife was the same way.....give up the bread, period. Yes I know, it's low carb, but I think you'll be better off without....just MTCW.
  12. BEAUTIFUL, ONEDERFUL, YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Man! That Alexandra is ALWAYS right on top of things with the BEST advice there is. MissPhnx, there is a lot of information to be learned, just from THIS site. You're doing the best thing you could by asking questions. I know from my own experience that the good people here at LBT are more than willing to answer all of them. Maybe even a few that you don't even WANT to ask....LOL Good luck to you and your DH into your new future.
  14. Thanks Kim, I'll make sure that she reads that. We had a blast at the luncheon and we're looking forward to making it to another one. There ain't nooooooo tellin' what that woman has hiding in the back of that closet. LOL Well 1slowloser, I can tell you this much. Joy has NOT been exercising until recently. She HAD been following the doctor's instructions to the T. After surgery and after each fill she has been put on liquids for at least a week and she feels that is when she has been losing the most. Just stick with it and get your fills when you should. Some times starting an exercise routine causes your body to bulk up and retain fluids. Just hang in there. It ain't fast, but it's good.....
  15. Hey Diane, thanks! We don't even own a scale so we had no idea. It was a good day...:grouphug:
  16. MsJoy had her 3rd fill today. Since her second one, she has been convinced that she was doing horribly. She could eat ANYTHING! At the bandster meeting the other day, she was a good girl (according to the food police) and had only a cup of soup and a little chicken. Usually she can eat almost as much as me. Even though a friend had asked her where the truckload of farmers had gone that use to live in her slacks, Joy just KNEW........KNEW that she hadn't lost an ounce since that last fill. More than likely, she had gained a little, even. We go in and they gave her another cc, for a total of 9...and the news that she had lost another 8 pounds since the last visit. :faint: WOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!!! We celebrated with another bowl of brocolli cheese soup at Chili's and a trip to the gym for some cardio........
  17. HOLY CRAPOLA, BATMAN! What did they do with the rest of Kellie?????? I am so totally floored, Kel. You are a babe! Congratulations to YOU!!!!!!
  18. My wife was instructed to NOT eat anything 4 hours before the fill and to do liquids for one week after the fill.

  21. Strawarts, my pleasure. Kim, thanks. We had a blast. We left and went to Denton and visited with the son. Got back to the house about 10:00. Can't wait till we can all get together again.
  22. Somebody tell me if the pictures worked....?
  23. Ok, I'm going to try several pictures..... spiceporn.bmp
  24. I sure hope that worked. More pictures to come. Had a blast and enjoyed meeting everyone. Steve, sorry I cut you off. I've got you in another picture.
