  1. Jan, have you had a fill yet? My wife had her first and had pain such as you have described. Doc put her on some Prilosec OTC and she took some Gas-X. And her heating pad helped a bit, too.
  2. OK, since this is getting close, let's decide on an unofficial uniform. Janet said they would show up in black shirts. How does that sound? Black shirts, jeans, pants, skirts, leather pants, capri pants, chinos, whatever you've got. Most of my black shirts have something on them to do with riding the Harley...
  3. www.obesityhelp.com is a good source for doctors in your area.
  4. This reminds me of what happened to MsJoy. She actually gained a couple of pounds and in the process LOST several inches. I should know, I'm the one standing on my head taking the measurements. Give your body a chance to re-adjust and then see what it can lose.
  5. And I'll bet the medallion was excited too.:hat:
  6. bhart, here's a link to the thread with all the info... http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=15865 hope to see everyone there.
  7. Kristen, I know that MsJoy had problems with the strawberries (she tried them too early). But a smoothie with some bananas, crushed ice, splenda and maybe a little yogurt would be great.
  8. I just thought I would mention it. I took the ride from here (Dallas) to Washinton, DC last year. Ten days on the road and only 4 hours in the rain. The group is going to Ontario, CA for the start of the Run and then riding it back to Texas. And some may go al the way to DC, again. Check out www.RFTW.org
  9. Let's see...... Slow and steady brings a quick conclusion??? NO, that's something else, entirely. I'll just keeping practicing....all by myself. LMAO
  10. Betje, here in Texas we go back to the doctor that put our bands in place. They use saline solution to "fill" the band so that you get some restriction.
  11. O2Bthin, that's great news. I know MsJoy is 5 weeks out from her first fill and she isn't having ANY trouble eating ANYTHING. Next fill appointment is next week. Keep up the good work....
  12. Good luck with it, hon. I know Joy was COMPLAINING and really getting a bit anxious about it. The Prilosec fixed her right up. And she figured out that she had to stay away from the V-8 juice.
  13. Joe, what do you do for a living? I've got a group of guys coming up your way for Run For The Wall in May. Would you be up for a three or four state ride? Maybe 4 or 5 days???
  14. iwitness, I've heard the oldsters say that it sometimes takes a week or two for your fill to kick in. I'd say give it a little time. Be sure and drink your water and get your proteins in. Oh...welcome to LBT.
  15. Everybody send Jack a private message. Think of his email box filling up with notices....hehehe
  16. excellent!
  17. Hi leespiritwalker, welcom to LBT. I'm the DH (darling husband), my wife is the one with the band, but she doesn't post much. Any questions you might have, just throw them out. I know someone will answer them.
  18. Susan, shirley you jest! How about the Star Spangled Banner? I gave that one a bit of a go today, also. Do you have any idea that that song has 43 chord changes in it? That was probably the S-L-O-W-E-S-T rendition ever.
  19. Bumpety bumpety bump bump bump....
  20. Gretta, here's a shortcut to that thread about the luncheon. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=15865 Hope to see you there.
  21. Julie, MsJoy got the same pains. Doctor put her on Prilosec OTC. She takes one a day and she's been doing the GasX, too. Her pain eased up in about 3 days.
  22. DW's first one was without. They had a bit of a problem finding it because the needle was too short, so they said. They stood her up and hit it first try.
  23. Carla, you do know about the two weeks of liquids after surgery, don't you? *grin* That's what the doc put my DW on. Then a week of mushies. He's a bit over cautious, but she hasn't had any problems.....
  24. Hey Diane, it aint' nuthin'. I haven't spoken to my dad for almost 4 years. The truth be known, I haven't missed it a bit.
  25. I think so... You're probably like Joy (my DW). At her first fill she just wanted to get it and get the heck out of there. She's needlephobic.
