Pics! 6 wks post, 26 lbs down...already see difference!
I’ve thought I would post a before and after shot of me to show you the difference in my face from pre-banding to now. The pre-shot was taken on the morning of my surgery day…driving to get banded! The current shot was taken a few days ago. I can definitely notice a difference in my chin. Click on the shots to see them in full size! What did you eat the 1st few days?
slimfast shakes, tea, tomato soup, Popsicles, crystal light...that's about it!
-
Portion Size
i eat around 4-6 oz which is a combo of meat and veges. it keeps me full for several hours.

Banded March 6th and getting frustrated !!!!HELP!!!!
I was banded march 4th. I've lost 25 lbs since surgery - but I'm super happy about the loss. I think this is amazing considering had I not gotten the band I would have lost nothing! I have restriction, I get full after a few bites...however, before restriction I was definitely in the same boat - a bit frustrated...a bit depressed. I think it takes time and effort - the band will not stop me from eating ice cream - but it does motivate me not to!

Will I be able to drive 4 days after surgery?
I was able to drive 2 days after surgery (after I was off the pain meds).

POLL - Whats your sweet spot in 10cc band?
My fill status was as follows: (all in a 10cc band) Surgery: 3ccs (no restriction) 4 weeks post-op: +2cc (no restriction) 5 weeks post-op: +0.5cc (no restriction) 5.5 weeks post-op: +0.5cc (no restriction) 6 weeks post-op: 0.75cc (yeahhh - restriction) So finally I'm at restriction at 6.75ccs in my 10 cc band!

After which fill did YOU really start losing!
-
How long did it take to feel a restriction?
For me it was about 6 weeks post-op and several fills (now at 6.75ccs in a 10cc band).
-
Getting first fill, only 25 days post op!
Fantastic news!!! Isn't it weird how some people take so much less to feel restriction than others? I mean I'm at like double the ccs as you and that's what i needed to get to restriction! by the way - thank you for the kind words on my blog!!!

Calories...the 1st 6 weeks...How Many?
Ahhh - get used to the stalls! I have had a pattern of 4-5 days of nothing, then all of a sudden 2 pounds down...then another couple days of nothing. I'm becoming much better with dealing with the stalls because I know that if I just stick with it, the pounds will drop after a few days. It looks like you are following the same pattern! See my fitday chart...lots of stalls - but then drops!

What was YOUR Moment of decision?
Kelin - I could practically write the same post exactly - it's precisely why I decided to get surgery. Back pain (everyone was asking me if I had back problems b/c I was always leaning on things when standing)...never wanting to go out and do anything...whenever I would be out people would move out of my way...i felt like a freak.

My Turn - Thursday April 17th
Hi! I was banded at NWWLS by Dr Montgomery! Please let me know how you are doing. I started a blog all about my experience (you can see it via the link below in my sig). Can't wait to hear about your experience - mine was fantastic!

Have a personal question
If you do want to purchase some, I did find these online. Personally, I was able to wipe my bum by going around via the "backside" v. the front - but I will admit it was a bit painful for the first week after surgery.

Got My Date

Post Op Questions
I actually started doing slimfast the day I came home from the hospital - along with yogurt. My doc said it was fine. I came up with my slim-fast-accino recipe on day 2! I'm still having them because they are my replacement for icecream! Just like a Frappuccino! Lise The Loser’s Weblog

Does it hurt?
For me, it was a breeze - probably because I was expecting so much worse. The worst part was the IV needle. But - I was out of the hospital and on the computer within 2 hours after I left the hospital. the only pain I had was when I was laying down and needed to sit up, slight pain when burping, laughing, sneezing - anything that required use of my stomach muscles (which I didn't know I had until surgery). All of the pain was completely gone after about 7 days. You can read about my entire experience via my blog (link below in my sig).

How much was your first fill?
I have a 10cc band. Here is my band fill history: surgery: 3ccs (no restriction) 4 weeks post op: +2ccs (no restriction) 5 weeks post op: +0.5ccs (no restriction) 5.5 weeks post op: +0.5ccs (no restriction) 6 weeks post op: +0.75cc's (restriction)!!!! So now I'm at 6.75 cc's and at restriction which is a wonderful thing!

Scared!!!!
Just walk away from the ben and jerry's!!!! I was an icecream junkie prior to surgery - i would have at least a pint every night. but - i've come up with an alternative. I've come up with a recipe to create a slimfast shake that tastes like a frappuccino but i thicken it up so it's like a chocolate shake that i scoop out of a glass and i still (5 weeks post op) have one a day whenever i have that icecream craving! here's my recipe (see link): Just like a Frappuccino! Disappointed No Weight loss week 2
i was in the same boat 2 weeks after surgery - but your body is adjusting after having gone through so much - it will start to move again - but get used to the stalls. they continue. i just had another week stall but then the past 2 days I went down 2 lbs...it's going to be a constant up and down journey - but in the end - it will be a great success.
