    I measured:
    neck
    upper arm
    bust
    chest (just under my bra)
    waist
    thigh
    calf
    ankle
    wrist
Just pick a spot on your upper arm/thigh/calf and measure that spot each time. I picked the largest area on each. I've been stuck at the same 2-3 lbs for 2 months and doing my measurements allowed me to see that I'm still losing inches even though my weight loss has stalled for the time being.

I have access to a wellness center that does air displacement measurement to calculate body fat %...I'm not sure I'd trust anything else other than Water displacement or DEXA scanning. You can get an air displacement plethysmography for under $100, then do another in a year to see where you are. Calipers are very dependent on user skill for accuracy, so don't bother buying them. And I've got an Aria scale that supposedly measures my body fat %, but it's remained at EXACTLY the same wrong number for the last 8 months, through 80+ lost pounds...makes me doubt it

Let me speak for everyone and say Full Body Picks at your High Weight are as much Fun as a Root Canal. I am looking forward to standing in front of the crowd on Group Pictures instead of hiding behind 3 or 4 people so you can only see my head. I Love Myself Plenty and Honestly Spit a lot of Game for a Big Guy but I have a lot of room for improvement and intend on putting the Best Me back out in the World. So one of my Goals for 2017 is to stop hiding from the Camera and expose myself just as I am and let the changes be seen in the Photo's.

I would straight up buy some ankle weights and wear them. I don't care who bashes me for saying so. It's so close. Don't let this door close if you have decided this is what is right for you.

You have lost at least 20 just from your waist! It seems like you are just taking each day as it comes and then just being in the moment to much. Try planning exactly what you are going to eat for a week and then buy everything you will need. Follow that. If you manage to stick to the eating plan for a week, do the same but maybe add one day of exercise. Or even just a long walk. Good luck! Sent from my SM-G900W8 using the BariatricPal App

Every time I read these posts I wonder if I will feel the same. My weight and goals are identical and while surgery is still 3 months out, I feel like I would be thrilled with that rate of loss.

I can only seem to find apps to check weight loss. I would like something to also track and hold all my measurements. It must exist yet I keep looking and have downloaded a fee and none seem to have this.

Hi, guys. Just wanted to share a progress pic and Celebrate with you all. Went to the sleep doctor today, and for the first time ever, I didn't dread stepping on the scale.

I enjoy moving more and have so much energy.

You all gave me tons of candid insight into the process - thank you! Was a great choice for me.

Hang in there! I know from experience that looking at the overall picture can be an overwhelming load to bear. I was on the fence about it several times over many years. At one point, I decided that it was not for me. I blogged for almost 7 years about trying to lose weight and that didn't get me anywhere.
Last year, my dad died at 59 years old because he failed to take care of himself. He was diabetic and early on he wouldn't take his oral meds, then refused insulin, and when he kidneys started failing he would only do dialysis when he wanted. Eventually, he decided that despite being retired and living a life with no real time requirements, he would rather be dead than receive treatment. His death certificate said diabetes/kidney failure, but I tell everyone that he died from failure. Failure to do what he needed to do to survive.
After he passed, I was angry. I asked my husband, "Why would someone not do what they needed to survive, why would someone choose to let themselves die and not do any possible thing imaginable to live?" He didn't have an answer for me, but later that evening as I looked at myself in the literal mirror, I thought aren't you one to question? I went to a seminar 3 weeks later and met with the surgeon a week after that. I went through 6 months of supervised weight loss and jumped through their hoops. I had my procedure on 10/26/2016 and I am down 60lbs.
My hinderance came from a place of fear, I stopped myself from doing what I should've done all along. I have no fear about the procedure on this side. I'm excited about life again. I'm getting to a place where I believe in myself and I have less fear in general.
The decision to have WLS is very personal. You will make the right decision for you. I have no regrets. Best decision I have ever made for my health.

I'm a private person and have not told anyone at work about my surgery. Last Friday a co-worker, who is also obese, took the liberty to comment on my weight loss. " You're just wasting away! You look good. But you don't need to loose anymore weight."
I was so shocked and really wasn't ready for a comment like that. All I could do was laugh it off.
Fast forward to today. A different co-worker said the same thing to me. " You're wasting away"
I just responded with "yeah your right."
All of my co-workers are used to seeing me at 260 pounds . I am now 185. I'm still obese and have no intention to self sabotage my progress because of anyone's ideal of what "Looks good enough."
My goal is to become healthy and maintain a "normal bmi." I'm sure others will begin to comment even more as time progresses.
I'm staying on plan and I'm ready for the haters.

These two people have very different lives, the one on the left hated Mondays because he had to go to work and didn't feel well because he only had 3 hours of sleep due to the fact his sleep apnea tried to kill him every night. The one on the right cannot wait to wake up after a great night sleep, to get to the gym and sculpt his guns.

I do have clothes size 4 to 18. As I purge the bigger sizes, it will be nice to pull it all out and fill the closet back in. But, I once I stabilize at a size I hope to purge everything else. My NSV is to have a closet with only clothes that fit. It can be sparse, that would be fine. I just really want to only look at clothes that fit for once in my life!

I had clothes from 10-22, and it is so much fun to ditch them! It's getting expensive replacing the pajamas and underwear/bras -- those I didn't have all the sizes of, but so much fun to replace my lingerie with pretty things! I actually organized my drawers a bit last night to have it be a lovely experience picking out which frilly bra and panty set I want to wear. Love it!
I have pants organized by size in one side, and I rotate the new sizes down to another section so I'm not overwhelmed or discouraged looking at the skinnier stuff. My tops are on another side, and those I will be replacing come spring/summer since I don't have anything smaller to wear.
I'm using my old gym pants, but my foot is down half a size. Not buying new shoes until I'm at goal and know where I will end up.

I am still a couple months out from Surgery. So every day that I am routing around in my closet trying to find something that fits, I dream about the future when I am pulling everything out and putting it in bags for donation. I imagine my closet to be empty! There is no point in having more than the bare minimum until the weight stops coming off.
I would love to hear about how you manage your wardrobe and would love to see some pictures :-)
