  1. Had my first fill today. I have a 10 cc band and he put in 5cc. Told me to stay on liquids for four days. I don't mind that because I am a little scared to eat now. He had me stand up and lean backwards to do the fill. Absolutely no pain but I got really light headed and thought I was going to faint. He had to set me down fast. I felt silly, I have never fainted before. I lost 5 pounds while I was in "bandster hell" so I was happy about that. I was even on vacation for a week during that time. Has anyone else felt light headed when they were getting a fill? I also got a headache right after the fill. I don't know if that was from the fill or not.
  2. I was told NO soda. They showed a bottle of soda where they had put a balloon on the bottle top. The carbonation blew up the whole balloon and after a week the ballon was STILL half way blown up. That shows you what soda will do to your pouch. I have given up ALL sodas. I am now a believer.
  3. I was on a similar diet. When I went in for my two week check up the doctor told me that I could resume my regular eating at three weeks. He won't give me my first fill for six weeks. I did NOT resume my regular eating (I wish he would not have told me that). I am on fish, tuna, cottage cheese, soups etc. I am not bored with the food and I WANT to lose weight while I am waiting for my first fill.
  4. My doctor won't let me have my first fill until 8 weeks out. He says he wants to make sure that I am completely healed before he starts a fill. I am staying on the diet. I was 222 on day of surgery and now I am 212. I can't say this is easy but I want this bad enough that I am sticking to the diet even tho I could eat whatever I want now.
  5. Had LB surgery one month ago. I was given a box of oranges and tangerines and have been eating them. Is this OK? I have never really seen a topic that says NO FRUIT. Please, all of you who have had the LB for awhile, did you have fruit?
  6. I had GB several years ago and quit drinking Pepsi. Lost 110 pounds and was doing really good. Then I started drinking a Pepsi now and then. The trouble is I became addicted to them. Had 6-8 cans a day, probably more in the summer. The weight started to slowly go on. I gained back 60 pounds and I had NO ONE to blame but myself. They told me no sodas. I just thought that I could bend the rules. I had LB on 2-18-08 and I stopped drinking Pepsi when I went for the first consultation on 12-18-07. I still think about Pepsi but I want to be thin MORE than I want to taste the Pepsi. Pepsi is not my friend. Please don't fool yourself to think that you can drink sodas and get away with it. You will wake up one day and find you have gained some weight back.
  7. I am so glad to hear that some of you are having side pain. My surgery will be three weeks ago on Monday and my left side hurts too. I seem to be OK in the morning but by night I am sore. I keep looking for a bruise or something to show me why my tummy hurts and there is nothing. I guess I am normal. That is good to hear.
  8. I had GB in 2001 and lost 110 pounds. Started drinking Pepsi once in awhile and then more and more. Soon I was addicted and buying Pepsi by the case. I stretched out my stomach and gained back 60 pounds. Just had LB on 2-18 and I will NEVER have soda. It is the start of your downfall in weight loss. Why go thru all of this only to gain it back? Soda is NOT worth it.
