Shana Lee got a reaction from sonkat5355 in Two month post op appointment, need more protein?
Get an instant pot or Power Pressure Pot XL and make yourself more muscle meats and or Beans... I can make incredible refried Beans from bag to refry within 1 hour. They pot has helped me get more Protein in for sure, without it I would not get my protein in, as I don't consume whey and I hate nearly all the shakes except for vegan ones. Good luck!

@Torriluv87 I think that it is our nature to struggle. I have been were you are. What makes the difference is if you let your mind trick you into thinking it's ok to continue on that path. Take 20 minutes literally alone and have a conversation out loud with yourself about where this path will lead you and how you feel if you allow that. Start tracking your food again if you stopped. This is your journey. Your still in it to win it..... for YOU and you sound fantastic and normal. Good luck!

Anyone else making bad choices? Or forgetting to eat for hours? I've been really struggling getting everything i need in. Water, Protein, Vitamins. To a sane post op patient it may look like I'm trying to kill myself. But i do eat it just hasn't been the best choices. Not gonna lie had a candy problem this week. Been addicted to Gummy candies for the past week or 2. Good news is im pretty burnt out on junk. This only happens around shark week but i don't need it happening at all. Anyone else having this trouble? I forget i had this surgery until i eat something and instantly remember the choice i made wasnt wise. Good news, im still losing. But i probably could be losing more. I don't know. Im just really in a bad mental space right now.

    HW and SW - 292
    CW -225.5

So happy with results - it just seems to be melting off. Dropped calories Sunday from 1300 to 1200 as was slowing down to 1ish a week and lost 3 this week!

I go to the gym about 3-4 times every two weeks, but I chase a 2 year old every night and all weekend!

I feel the same way. For some reason, some days I indulge myself more than I should, and there's no restriction at all.

    Back to fundamentals!

Hi. Sleeved on 10/28. Down 60 lbs as of today. My stomach can tolerate everything. Nothing really bothers it and some days can eat quite a bit. Which makes me nervous for the future. I am just trying hard lately to be more focused on what I am eating and stick with Protein as much as possible.

I did recently discover that my hormones are completely unbalanced and have caused extreme fatigue. Just started taking hormone replacement injections and already feeling much better.

I am only 5.5 lbs until I am finally out of the 200s. Which is a huge milestone in this journey.

I hear that the first 50-60 lbs are easier to lose and everything else is much harder after that. I am really hoping I can continue this losing trend. I don't really have an amount set for my goal. But 100 pounds would be the best goal right now. That would put me at 166 lbs at 5'5"

Congratulations to all of us for taking control of our health and all the changes we have made. You all look amazing.

    I was sleeved October 27 at 299 pounds. Today I'm at 228.

    Today I ate:
    Organic light string cheese
    Small handful of grapes
2oz salmon with a couple green Beans and tiny slices of potato
    6 chocolate covered almonds
    Coffee
    Another 1oz of salmon

This is a pretty typical day. I never, ever go below 60 G Protein and never over (or very close) to 1000 cal.

I do as well. I'm 8 months out and follow my plan which allows for 30 carbs 6 days a week and 50 one day a week.

I eat 1 oz of green vegetables (usually green beans) three times a day. I don't eat fruit at all because of the sugar and carbs. I had fatigue issues for the first 2 months post-op, but at almost 6 months post-op, I don't have energy issues anymore.

10-24 sleeved. Average about 950-1000 calories a day. Carbs under 40 (unless it's a special occasion or can't be helped), Protein 80g minimum. Don't count fat. According to My Fitness Pal, my sodium and fat is usually way under. Doing really well on this as long as I keep the carbs down. I'm down to about 35% body fat, working towards my 25% goal.

I average around 700-900 calories a day. I keep my carbs under 65 grams, Protein between 65 and 100 and fats I try to keep as low as possible but don't worry as much about because it's hard to keep that low and protein high. I was sleeved exactly 5 months ago and I'm down 75lbs.

You are starting at a relatively low BMI so you shouldn't be looking for huge numbers or fast rate of loss. You have lost 10% of your entire body weight in just 10 weeks...2.4 pounds per week, which is actually great. Just keep doing what you're doing. Hit your Protein and Water goals, take your Vitamins, eat a healthy, balanced diet and stay off the scale if it's going to stress you out.
BTW, I lost over 160 pounds and was never in ketosis. Some plans call for ketosis, but IMHO that's just setting you up for failure with an unsustainable fad diet. You should be learning new eating habits that will carry you through not only weight loss, but also weight maintenance.

It is just funny that so many people do not think exercise is important to long term physical and emotional health. Read the studies and make a choice. If you can walk a little more each day that alone can make a big difference. I am in the gym 5/7. When I have stress, I beat the heck out of the gym bag commonly referred to as "Bob." My life my way!

Exercise has a lot of benefits other than weight loss. It improves heart health, lung function, blood sugar, bone density, joint strength, and lowers the risk of depression, stroke, and many types of cancer. It also helps to tone the body so that, having lost weight, you're not flabby and weak.

You didn't not lose weight because you were exercising. You won't lose weight because you are exercising. But there's a lot of other benefits, and I can all but guarantee that if you don't exercise, you will not maintain weight loss down the road.

Shana Lee reacted to erica_ozzy73 in Not Tracking your food is a big mistake!
So I don't always track what I eat in fact I rarely do. In the beginning ( nearly 14 weeks ago) I was so in tune with what I was having. Gradually that has worn off. The weight was coming off slowly so tracking didn't seem to matter. Then started the bit n pieces of "slider" foods. I had read about this in others stories and would think "oh never would I let myself be like that".... how wrong I was.
The potato chips and small biscuits seem to go down with no issues. I wasn't sick and it didn't fill me up so what was the problem. Peanut paste then started to become a favourite snack straight off the spoon. It's ok it's protein!!.. Icecream was another easy food to go down and it seemed to help my sweet cravings as I was only having a little so what did it matter?..
A bit here and there soon became more and more!!..
Today i decided to track what I had eaten as best I could.. to own what I was doing.. the damage I was doing.
You see like most of us here that decided to get this procedure I have a food addiction. Something that is NOT fixed by having a sleeve. They take some of your stomach not the part of your brain that controls this. I have really no clue how to fix it but maybe the best I can do is to some how control it. That's hard!!..
Nope I didn't have counselling before my sleeve to help me. I honestly thought I could do it alone.
I feel now I am more consumed with "food" then I ever was. What a shit position to be in.
So today I was so over my Carb intake it was terrible. My Protein intake low... and my fats should of been more. If I was counting calories I'd say at 1400 Cals was too much for me.
But from now and into tomorrow and beyond I shall be accountable for what I put into my mouth. Yeah I'll stuff up a little but mostly I shall be on track.
Food addiction is a hard one as we need it to survive and can't get away from it..
