If there was booze in the pie it is possible. LOL!
It takes very little alcohol for me to actually feel drunk. Like I cannot drive drunk.......really drunk.
Sugar, no......I just feel really crappy if i eat something with too much sugar.
I had a very small piece of wedding cake at my friends sons wedding. It had a boozy chocolate mousse in it. I did not get drunk but could seriously feel the liquor.

Pre-surgery I used to experience "drunk on sugar."

Well hello all! I survived!! Surgery was on 11/29 and I'm 4 days post op! I woke up this morning feeling about 80%! Still have a drain tube and walking pretty slow but I can lay down and on my sides. And my back pain finally went away! Can't wait for Tuesday I get to have oatmeal and mashed potatoes! Lol

I finished my Kaiser Permanente options classes, did all the lab and x-rays. I went to meet my surgeon on Thursday and he is pushing for roux en y because I have GERD. Anyone else have this happen to them? I didn't realize acid reflex was a big issue for getting the sleeve. any input would be greatly appreciated.

Got my preop appt. December 22nd. Any advise? What did you take on the day of the surgery? Anyone else get it or getting it at Kaiser on Cadillac in West LA??

Hmm, no idea. Have not tried sugar or really any high carb food. I did have dumping from drinking a Protein Shake too fast and felt dizzy but not in a good way. Hot flashes sweaty and nauseaous and gross...never want to feel that again. So kind of like being drunk in a wanting to projectile vomit and curl up in the fetal position kind of way.

Ty. My wife is asking, I wanted her to go home and come back the next day but she's as stubborn as I am. I gotta go to Kaiser for my preop on December 22nd I'll ask mine like you did. Good luck and keep us posted on here

I was told by my Kaiser surgeon that when I have my surgery on December 14, I will be in a private room overnight, and that there will be a couch available in the room, for any ONE person to stay with me overnight as long as it's just one person. Don't look back, turn the page, and let your next chapter begin!

I had ordered premier high protein it's 30g of protein in 11oz carton

Ooh yes at times I questioned myself as to if I made the right decision but I did because I feel better and I see a big difference and so does everyone else now I just got to get back to working out more

Oh another thing I had found it hard to get my 64oz of liquid by just sipping but u gotta do it.... make sure you get your 60-80g of protein... thats something I'm struggling with now but I just ordered me some Protein Shakes

It was painful...I didn't want to eat and barely wanted to drink I was constipated for a whole week I kept calling the surgery flr telling them the problem they kept telling all kinds of things to buy (so be careful with pain meds because that is what going to cause your constipation) if you have a recliner sleep in it that will be your best friend

Hector, What procedure are you getting? I will be 4 months post op on 12/17. I remember being so scared at the end of the day it will be the best decision you will ever make. GOOD LUCK!

Nope, he said if I insist on the not recommended procedure the sleeve, I will have to get a GI xray and he'll probably have to operate a hernia. It was a lot of information but that's what I understood. I can't risk having the acid get worse I'm accepting the rny option. Just sucks cause I was pumped about the sleeve since 2014. I'm about 4.5 months out. Lost 75lbs. Started at 276; I was 201 this morning. Today was the last day for the MD Renn Faire so I just had to go. I took a picture last year but didn't share it with anyone because I thought it looked terrible. I had another picture taken today and I just can't believe how much of a change there was. Last year I was wearing a 46" corset. The one from this year was a 36".
Oh and my hair is a hot mess in this, but that should be expected after being outside all day. Can't wait to see where I am next year!

Has anyone had wls and if so what was the wait for approval???

Most of us have watched many of the episodes. The worst thing to me are the ENABLERS anding these people cartons of fried chicken, etc. even when they are in the hospital. So if your mama says eat this chicken nugget say HELL NO!

See this? This is what the staple line of your stomach looks like. If one of those ruptures or comes loose, you will have your stomach contents leaking into your abdominal cavity, causing possible sepsis. Your stomach's nerves have been cut and stapled, so the feeling isn't as sharp as it should be. Post op diet requirements aren't 'suggestions' like Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig. It's a prescription so you heal properly and don't hurt yourself. It has nothing to do with weight loss early out.
Follow your surgeons orders from here on out, please.

Seriously do not take offense, but concern for you doing that is mind boggling. I choked on a soft piece of chicken six weeks after surgery, and I could not breathe. I ran through my house like a crazy person, so panicked. Three years later I still am cautious and make sure I chew chicken and beef very well.
