Yeah. If you kick it completely you're gonna drop your sugar big time. Cause its liquid it fucks us up faster and worse. Also arroz and tortillas no no. bread, only wheat and minimize. Try like veggies with teriyaki chicken. Caldo de pollo, chicken with a little rice but more veggies. Try that for 3 months with a little walking. I can't walk too much but unos 10, 15 min walk couple times a week. You'll be under 7.0 . Just keep at it. My girl makes tamales, I just be praying to go to keep me strong lol

I had the ds sept 13th! Honestly the best thing ive ever done! My best advice is WALK! Slow nd steady. Moving will help with the pain although its hard at first! I would say after week 1 things start getting easier! Im almost 3 mnths post op and very happy!

I was told just the opposite. I had the sleeve in 2013 and rny was not an option by this particular surgeon. After going through the sleeve I had gerd so bad never had it before the sleeve. My sleeve failed and I went to a new Dr, was going to have a revision done to it but once the new Dr explained that a sleeve only guarantees you to lose 60-90 pounds and rny is for 90 and over, I chose to revision to an rny. I had the sleeve in 2011 and it worked well for me.Then acid reflux got a lot worst and starting causing all kinds of issues.My Hiatal Hernia failed too and caused my stomach to push upwards.It is hard for Hiatal Hernia's to not fail because they are attached to the diaphram and it moves every time we take a breath.On Nov.22,2016 I had my sleeve converted to bypass.Only way to end acid and bile reflux.They also repaired Hiatal Hernia again.Feel so much better.

Hahaha. I don't blame you. I just stubborn. I'm prepping myself mentally to be under a lot of pain and feel the worse case scenario. God willing I'll be expecting the worse but won't experience it. See this way even though it will be tough I'd already prepped myself for worse. You'll be fine amanda, you're a young woman; I have no doubt you'll bounce off this quicker than me. Keep us posted! @@hectorlopez323 You are strong! I've made it to day 3! I've stayed on only liquids as my doc requested, today seems a little easier. I'm not as hungry and so far no headache. However...i have to say, if i wasn't almost forced to be on all liquids like this, i would likely be with your wife and not make it half a day. Hahahha.

I am right there with ya! 2 days into pre op diet and it's been hard! I have surgery on Dec 19th. Hang in there you are almost done with pre op. I get to have 1 meal and 2 shakes per day. Funny how everyone's diet is different. Good luck!! I will keep on touch so yiu can tell me what to expect!

Hi guys--my name is Amanda. I'm 29 and it's been a long road to this point. I've battled my weight my whole life, and finally i'm here. My bypass is scheduled for this Saturday, December 10th. I'm super excited for the journey ahead, but since it's getting so close i'm feeling scared at the same time--just basically the fact that i have to have surgery...haha. Did you guys feel the same way before you had yours? I've read some posts here that kind of make me feel like i'm not the only one. AND...i'm on my pre-op liquid diet...which for me is only Protein Shakes, broth and clear liquids...and i'm STARVING!!
It'll be worth it, i know.

Good luck to you!!! At my pre-op, which was yesterday actually, I met with the admitting people at the hospital and had an EKG and some bloodwork. I don't have Kaiser, and i've never been to the hospital where my surgery will be at, so i was soooo lost. Hahahha. Thankful that everyone there was helpful in directing me around!

My plan says 1000 deductible. I'll find out on the 22nd when I go for my preop. A lot of plans in cali don't cover it. I got lucky my boss who's the project manager helped me transfer to a union site with better healthcare. She believes this surgery will help me and has been very supportive since I been wanting this
