Just know you are doing the right thing for your body and well being . The doctors, nurses and other staff are there to help you. Don't be afraid of telling them you are nervous. They understand. When I have my surgery it will be my 9th. I still get nervous. Just think about the outcome and how healthy you will be. Good luck.

I was very nervous too. More than any other surgeries...and I had plenty. Lol You'll be fine. Make sure you have a lot of support around you. The nurses were great at my hospital. One nurse actually had bypass surgery and talked with me for a while. She answered all my questions and made me feel at ease. Good luck.

Most gummies don't have iron--typically the reason we are told to avoid.

I was told to get the flintstone chewable Vitamins. So that is what I have been using.

I ended my classes in June and just got my surgery date for January 2017. This week I met the surgeon and he said they have hundreds of patients. Just go to every class and lose weight and it will go faster. Good luck Sent from my SM-T230NU using the BariatricPal App

I have Kaiser and live in Coachella Valley but having my surgery in San Bernardino . It has taken me a year to get a surgery date! I went to the surgeon this week at Kaiser Redlands Dr. FEDORKA. My surgery isn't until January 2017. I started the process last September. Kaiser is backlogged . The surgeon said they have hundreds of patients . I'm so frustrated by how slow it has been. My suggestion is do everything they ask and start losing weight . If you don't comply they are glad to have you wait. Go to every class and appointment .

we were told not to use gummies for some reason.

What about gummies I heard my B.S.(Bariatric Surgeon) likes Flintstone Gummies knew He was 1/3rd my age but is that a good kind?

Hi Amy, I met with my surgeon for the first time this week too!

I have a date 1/12/2017 for my surgery! I am so freaking frustrated how long it takes to get this done thru Kaiser SoCal. I went to orientation a year ago in October. I started the options classes in March ended in June. I complied with losing weight, lowering my AiC, cutting out diet soda, drinking Protein Shakes and exercising. I have been putting off getting a job and going back to school. I just want it done! I know I sound whiney . I know I am not alone with the wait. I am tired of being fat and hating taking pictures. that's how I feel . I want to feel better and look better.

I'm Kaiser, close to 14 months RNY post op. Took a year to get through the process, including 6 months of Options classes. It was so worth it. Good luck!

The classes I feel are too long for what little they teach you. We have more of a group discussion than anything. I have been doing a Protein shake in the morning and trying to make it to lunch before I eat again to kinda prepare for the pre op diet. I've lost 8 lbs so it's going good I guess
