  1. GasX will work wonders! Also, I'm about to have a revision surgery but when I had my band out in, I found holding a pillow to my stomach with a little pressure, helped the gas feelings a lot! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  6. For those of you who would like the black bean Soup recipe: 1 pound dried black Beans or 4 cans of black beans 1 or 2 green bell peppers (I like poblano) 1 large onion ½ cup olive oil ½ cup white vinegar 1 tbsp cumin (I use more because I love it) Salt and pepper to taste 1 ham hock (or meat seasoning for you non-southerners) Dice all vegetables. (I buy the pre-diced from the grocery store so I can just dump everything). Sautée the vegetables in a little olive oil in pan until soft. Then dump everything else in the pan. Yes, I mean it. Add Water as needed to cover everything. You won't need much water in a crockpot. Cook until beans are done and the liquid part starts to look creamy. Use immersion blender or regular blender to Purée. Top with sour cream! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  8. Hey guys! I'm scheduled Monday for surgery and I wanted to reach out to see about how much you are able to eat with you DS. I know the pouch is bigger than just the sleeve, but I'm not clear on exactly how much! Just trying to get ready for meal prepping and portion control! Thanks! 10. I told everyone at my work the truth, that I was having weight loss surgery. I'm not ashamed of getting the surgery and I don't want there to be a stigma with it. Most of my coworkers were extremely supportive and interested in helping me pre-op and post-op. When I told my supervisor, it turns out she has had the bypass and is now one of my biggest mentors. There is no shame in weight loss surgery. Go ahead tell the world? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I'm in my second week! Surgery is on the 26th. I'll be spending Christmas Day drinking 5 shakes per day. As hard as it is, this too shall pass. Once we are living our healthy lifestyles, these two or three weeks will just be a blink of our eyes. I've told everyone that is around me that I'm having surgery. They have helped me to keep accountable and it's been so helpful! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

It was either get the surgery next week (scheduling it for Monday means I'm out exactly two weeks) or wait until May to have it Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  18. When I had my band I had to follow the sugar busters plan. It was a high Protein low carb diet but food was allowed. Now that I'm getting ready for a revision to a DS I'm on one week of two shakes a day, two snack bars a day, and one lean protein with veggies meal per day. Next week is five shakes per day. Total of two week pre-op diet. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
