  1. As one who originally posted freaking out about mine. I am SO glad I had one. Didn't feel it at all when they put it in, and it was only uncomfortable right after taking it out. Almost immediately I needed to use the restroom and went just fine. They stopped measuring after two urinations because I was doing so well. Katy W- Louisburg, NC Lapband revision to VSG with DS HW- 297 Weight at Surgery-279 CW- will update at two week appt
  2. THIS. I had never used a Togo box in my life until after surgery! Katy W- Louisburg, NC Lapband revision to VSG with DS HW- 297 Weight at Surgery-279 CW- will update at two week appt
  3. I am a revision patient as well! I had my lapband for 7 years and gained all the weight back. I just had a conversion to a gastric sleeve with duodenal switch. I figured that if I am going to do this again, then I am going it big. For me the DS had the most successful long term weight loss and that's what I needed. I just had mine done on 12/26 so I would be happy to chat! Katy W- Louisburg, NC Lapband revision to VSG with DS HW- 297 Weight at Surgery-279 CW- will update at two week appt
  4. Thanks so much Heidi! Katy W- Louisburg, NC DS scheduled for 12/26
  5. Hi all! I had my revision from lapband to sleeve with duodenal switch On Monday 12/26. I feel the need to cough, but it hurts like hell to do so. Any tips on how to make it easier? Katy W- Louisburg, NC DS scheduled for 12/26
  6. Thanks beautiful diamonds! My goals for today is to get in two full walks and a shower before I take my pain meds which will force me to take an afternoon nap. Then at least two more walks before bedtime!! Katy W- Louisburg, NC DS scheduled for 12/26
  7. Hey guys! I'm overwhelmed with all the well wishes! They ended up keeping overnight for an extra night to get my nausea under control. Now that it has been controlled, I'm headed home as we speak! Still have a lot of pain when I move but I am told that it will get better every day! Katy W- Louisburg, NC DS scheduled for 12/26

  11. For those of you who would like the black bean soup recipe: 1 pound dried black Beans or 4 cans of black beans 1 or 2 green bell peppers (I like poblano) 1 large onion ½ cup olive oil ½ cup white vinegar 1 tbsp cumin (I use more because I love it) Salt and pepper to taste 1 ham hock (or meat seasoning for you non-southerners) Dice all vegetables. (I buy the pre-diced from the grocery store so I can just dump everything). Sautée the vegetables in a little olive oil in pan until soft. Then dump everything else in the pan. Yes, I mean it. Add Water as needed to cover everything. You won't need much water in a crockpot. Cook until beans are done and the liquid part starts to look creamy. Use immersion blender or regular blender to Purée. Top with sour cream! Katy W- Louisburg, NC DS scheduled for 12/26

  15. I'm on five shakes a day and Clear Liquids. I've been on it for 6 days now and my surgery is Monday. For me, I have to take it one day at a time. If I start thinking about it as a week long, I feel like I can't do it. If I focus on the timeline of five shakes and some broth and Powerade zero when I need a different taste, I can do it! Katy W- Louisburg, NC DS scheduled for 12/26
  16. My doctor encourages it. I would ask your nurse or doctor just in case! I know every doctor is different Katy W- Louisburg, NC DS scheduled for 12/26

  23. You take 45-60 minutes to eat your meal and you get jealous of those who can eat in 15 minutes! Especially those coworkers who can then relax for the remainder of their lunch break Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. We are superheroes!!! My mom said I was the strongest woman she knows lol I do have classic binge eating disorder and since I am a revision patient, I've decided to see a psychiatrist after my surgery to help work through those issues. Part of realizing surgery will be a tool, not a magical cure all. I'm still on five shakes a day, but I've been drinking Powerade zero which has no calories or sugar. It's the best thing in my day lol 2 more sleeps till surgery! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. I remember when they approved mine! I literally screamed with joy and cried on the phone with the insurance company lol Congrats!! I'm set for the 26th in two days!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
