Not my spouse but I stayed with my mom for the two weeks after my surgery. What helped me was having all my "food" in one place on the counter and one shelf in the fridge. She also would go on my walks with me and that was super nice. Also, helping to remind your wife to eat and drink on schedule. It isn't easy but the reminders are nice. I needed help getting up and out of bed for the first week as well as taking showers and going to the bathroom. Lastly, because I went to bed so much earlier, I was sleeping 12-14 hours per night post surgery, mom would tuck me into bed. It just felt nice to be cared for. I have anxiety and told mine that it was well controlled with medicine and therapy. I talked with them about how I planned to deal with the emotional side of things post surgery. I was approved. I had severe nausea the first two days after surgery. After that, none. In fact, I only take my nausea meds to help me sleep at night. I'm one week post op, so next Monday 12/9 I'll transition to puréed and see how I do! Hi All, I am a week post op and I have cramps in my stomach area that radiate to my whole abdomen. They are pretty uncomfortable and last for a couple of seconds. Are these hunger pangs? I'm a band to duodenal switch revision and I'm post op day 6. I'm still on my hydrocodone and Tylenol mix. I have one incision that is giving me the most trouble and is the reason I take it. I had my lapband converted to a Sleeve with duodenal switch on 12/26. It does get better every day. Getting up and down hurts like a bitch. Most of the time though the pain from the gas in my back and shoulders wakes me up before my abdomen. I've been walking at least three times a day and then resting. It gets a little better every day. I notice that it's not so painful when I get out of the chair or out of bed. Just little by little. You can do this! I'm here with you! I will be sucking on some sugar free popsicles, taking some pain meds, and cuddling with my cats. A true partier at 25 years old I go back to work on the 9th so I want to get as much rest as possible!
