    Taste buds change?

I had an immediate change! Loved some Jello and broth pre surgery, and I'm almost two weeks out and can't stomach it still. All I can stand is savory, healthy food. Went with my mom to the wholesale club to pick up more Protein shakes and almost gagged passing the bakery. The smell which normally would entice me, disgusted me. Also really sensitive to cleaning supplies at the moment. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. Just got my shipment of GENEPRO Protein powder after reading a lot of reviews and posts on here about it! I had a TERRIBLE experience with the Proteinx that they gave me in the hospital (it's liquid unflavored protein) so I was skeptical to say the least. Turns out I mixed it in my Greek yogurt and actually enhanced the delicious strawberry cheesecake flavor! Anyone have any great ways they sneak their Genepro into their food or tips? About to hit the purée stage so any ideas would be welcome. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Hiccups?

Only thing that helped me was really deep breaths. It sucks but it's the only thing that really helped them go away. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Spicy food?

I'm only 6 days out and still on liquid but my current favorite Soup (strained of course) is an organic chicken tortilla southwest style soup. Definitely has a kick but my doc said the same-as long as I'm tolerant of it, shouldn't be an issue. I would say minimal at first, small bites, and take your time savoring you know your pouch best! 5. It's not, and I wish it was! I figured out something for myself but I'm definitely putting a call in to the MD's office on Monday morning. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. Hi 9/19 friend! I'm sorry you're feeling like a truck hit you! That's definitely how I felt my first few days, especially while I was battling the great effects of pain meds vs the nausea the caused. Had a minor anxiety attack at the hospital too just because I kept dry heaving violently and my chest started to hurt from the force. I realized it got better once I was in my own home in a comfortable place. Try to take a quick warm shower, and as soon as you're clear for Protein, take as much as your body can handle. I seem to hit a spot around 9:15 pm where I'm just over 1/4 cups of liquid, but it's helped me so much so far in my recovery since Monday. 7. Ok, so I have read through and searched all past posts and still cannot figure out a schedule for all of these Vitamins they have me taking. My requirements are: 2- chewable multis 1-b12 daily/weekly (I bought a weekly so we're good there) 3- Calcium citrate 1- Iron w/ Vitamin C I know iron cancels calcium and they have to be spread out by 2 hrs, but can I take my extra iron with my second multi later today? I have looked online for days now and can't find a straight answer. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Hello all! As a recently sleeved gal (Monday 9/19) I'm still in phase 1 and will be well into next week, but will be returning back to work in my puréed food stage. As someone who has had an aversion to that texture of food since I was a kid, I'm wondering if anyone has any tricks or tips, and how you maybe made it work for being back at work? 10. I have an office job in a hospital and I'll be going back after two weeks. I was sleeved on Monday 9/19/16 and I am feeling wonderful. It truly depends on your job and how you're personally feeling. If you think your job will take too much out of you, better to opt for more time Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
