Does anyone purposely vary their caloric intake?
I wasnt trying to trick my body. I am trying to find what works for me. I was losing at a faster rate and using the facilities on the reg when consuming less calories. The nurse said bump up, so I did but I havent gone a normal amount in 4 days. The point was to see if anyone else varied their intake to keep everything dropping like its supposed to. Or if anyone else switched between full food and liquids in an intermintant fasting kind of way. I know that i will lose the weight eventually, i am not handling the fullness and bloating that comes with constipation well. Its been literally over a decade since I have had tbis problem. Insurance questions
Edit to add: Lets double check this. Is your health insurance medi-cal (provided by state) or a selfpay/employer provided insurance? I asked because I have medi-cal and they did approve my surgery. Have you already done the 6 months of dr supervised weight loss? Get letters from your pcp talking about how your current medical issues are related to your health, a letter from your ortho about your joints (especially if he can say that you will need joint replacements). Write a letter about yourself. How your weight effects your life, a break down of your past attempts at dieting and the results, family histories of weight related or weight aggrivated diseases. I was denied several times and those letters where what got me approved. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16

Avocado
Yes. 3 or 4 days of healing can make a big difference. Cottage cheese is a good source of Protein at ~25g and 200cals per cup. Avocado, while a healthy fat, is mostly just fat. It only has ~3g protein and 240 cals per cup. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16

Has anyone done their plastics in Mexico?
Interested in reviews of surgeons, approx cist, how well you recovered etc. I know I need to start planning now if I expect to have ducks in a row by the time I am ready for surgery. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16

Anyone drive themselves home after surgery?
I drove myself down in a rental car the day of surgery. The hospital I was in requires you to be discharged into someones care. I was going to have my brother pick me up and take me to Amtrak, and have my husband pick me up at the station but he veto'd that. He drove down the morning i was getting discharged and drove me back the same day. I will be doing the same for him, except I will drive him down before the surgery too, as I will have a follow up appointment. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16

Plastic surgery
I have a history of Hidradenitis suppurativa sores in my armpit, under my breasts, at the waistline and in the groin. They cause me a fair amount of pain. I also have a lot of chaffing and Keratosis pilaris bumps on my inner thighs. Hopefully insurance will cover the surgery needed to fix these issues as they will only get worse as the skin sags more. Plastic surgery
If you dont mind... What insurance do you have? What issues did you have that made it medically nessisary? I am sure there are many of us who just deal with the issues that come with being obese, but if we knew that they could possibly be considered pre reqs for surgery, we would go to the dr about them. Does anyone purposely vary their caloric intake?
Im not focusing specifically on the weight, i just noticed that the weight loss slowed when I upped my cals. Maybe it would have slowed anyway... Between constipation and not losing, I was trying to decide if I should go back to previous method, change it up, or ride it out for a while. I keep track of all consumed calories in the spark people app. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16

Plastic surgery
I, personally, woukd wait until after the surgery so that it can be atributed to the weight loss rather than your normal body. But its up to you. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16

Weed.
Have you tried the high CBD meds? I find they help so much more than typical strains. Another option (whixh is my preference) is to take one paet high thc meds, and add it to 2 parts high cbd. Its more expensive than typical strains (street or club) but works better for pain in my opinion. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16

Does anyone purposely vary their caloric intake?
I spoke with my bariatric nurse about 2 weeks ago. At the time I was eating 600-750 cals and 60g Protein a day. She said to boost my cals to 800-950 a day and 7-80g protein, so I did. I am trying to work my way into getting my all my protein from food, which means that I am consuming more food with solid byproducts. That is leading me to have more issues with constipation and some delays with loss. I have been gaining and losing the same 1.5lbs for the past 5 days. Prior to upping my cals, I was averaging 1lb a day since surgery and in the past 10 days of higher cals I have been averaging 0.5lbs. Should I consider ignoring the nurse and going back down to 750? Should I just chalk it up to mini stall and constipation? I was also thinking of doing something along the lines of two days food, one day liquid only to mix things up and maybe help move things along. Does anyone stagger their caloric intake or switch up between food days and all liquid days? HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16

Constipation
Ive been constipated since week 3. I started added benefiber to my shakes as of yesterday, and started drinking smooth move tea. Hopefully the combo will help. Ducolax works TOO good for me and I hate the taste/texture of milk of magnesa so I am holding off on that as long as possible. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16

Is peanut butter a good source?
Heh, I got mine for fairly cheap, from biglots of all places. It was a great find, I just wish I would have bought more. They also make a chocolate Peanut Butter one too! Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App I bought mine at biglots too. I add it to my fairlife shakes every morning. Im drinking one now. Lol. I also used it to make the peanut dipping sauce for my spring rolls. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16

Plastic surgery
Tummy tucks are almost never approved. Getting your panni removed (the skin and dat that hangs over the groin) might be. You usually need a history of health issues like yeast infections and skin breakdown. If you can, I would start going to the doctor soon after surgery complaining about the yeast infections and such to establish a history. When it comes time to remove the skin you can use that history to try and push the panni thru. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16

Is peanut butter a good source?
PB2 is powdered. You can add Water to make a paste or mix it into other foods or beverages. I put it in chocolate shakes. I havent tried these but they are some ideas for PB2 recipes. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16

Is peanut butter a good source?
I would use PB2 instead. 180 cals of PB2 is 20g Protein, rather than 12g. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16

Homemade Shakes vs Store bought?
I make my own with fairlife milk (choco and plain), GENEPRO, and PB2. I might try swapping the chocolate for plain and adding a couple of slices of frozen banana. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16

New topic time...
I wish i had a tub that I could soak in. Mine is tiny witha ridiculously low overflow drain. I pretty much can cover my butt cheeks and nothing else. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16 My tub is also tiny, which the surgery should help with, but currently it's not super relaxing. I did find a solution to the low overflow thingy, though. I found on amazon a little plastic cover that goes over the overflow thing and it allows you to put more Water in without it getting sucked down the overflow. Additionally, I looked for bath bombs made for the shower on etsy. They fizz and steam and have aromatherapy properties (I bought one for relaxation, one for energizing you when you have a cold, and one for headaches). Definitely worth a look! Sent From BariatricPal App I am going to make some DIY bombs and but the fake rings out of the 50cent vending machines. Give them out as xmas presents. Make some homemade candles and make labels that say "Jankee Candle". Lol HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16
