I'm devastated

I was one week into my pre-op diet with surgery set for 11/15. Everything was going great and I was so excited to finally be getting there. Then I got a call Tuesday from my surgeon's office that my insurance denied me and my surgery was cancelled. They will help me start the appeal process but to be in the middle of my pre-op diet and so close to surgery and have it all just stop is heartbreaking.

I'm sorry. I hope the appeal is swift and effective.

Im sorry, that must be so very frustrating... Hopefully you'll get your appeal and it will just be a short jump in the road. Did they say why?

I am so sorry. Do not give up. I have read of many others going through this and sometimes the appeal is quick.

Depending on your financial situation, there is always the option to self pay in Mexico.

I went that route and posted my whole experience on the Mexico self pay forum. I was very impressed with the standard of care and the treatment I received.

Prices range from low $4000s and that includes shuttles to/from the airport, hotel stay, broth and aftercare plus 2 nights in the hospital.

At a BMI of 36 and 32, my wife and I would never have been approved by our regional health authority.

I am so sorry. I hope the appeal process will go quickly and work in your favor. Your surgeon's office knows how to handle this and I'm sure they will get the ball rolling. I'm really surprised your surgeon scheduled your surgery prior to insurance authorization

I was 10days into my preop diet when I was denied the first time. I was denied several times before I was approved.

I am going through my second denial process. Look at your requirements on your insurance and compare them with your denial letter. They were different. I called my HR dept and she has contacted the insurance. Hopefully I here something next week. I was scheduled for 11-16-16 and had to cancel. Appeal . Keep your head up and do some research.

Prayers it will get approved.
