  1. Hello all!! Well my date is fast approaching (Dec. 6th) . I'm starting to wonder if having a surgery pal might be helpful to anyone or for myself. It appears that the change is going to be both physically and emotionally taxing, so I figure it wouldn't hurt to have someone available who relates step by step. We can swap some diet stages recipes... Maybe even be a workout partner in the near future. Anyone else have a date set early December? Are you in the ATL Georgia area? I would love to find a surgery buddy!!! Hope to hear from you soon. Sent from Dee~Dee via BariatricPal
  2. I used Premier Protein. To be honest, they were delicious before surgery but after surgery I can barely stand to drink them. As for tips for pre-op I dont have much.... Im a very competitive person, so even though the battle was in my own head, I went into it like a battle. When I was tempted I would ask myself 'who's gonna win this thing... The old you or the happier new you?' Everyday that passed got easier and my confidence got stronger. Sent from my 5054N using the BariatricPal App
  3. Hi there. I used Dr. Procter at Betline Surgical (formally Buckhead Surgical). Who are you using? Sent from my 5054N using the BariatricPal App
  4. Pre-op diet is challenging but Im convinced its mostly a 'mind' thing. I actually enjoyed the Protein shakes, they helped me feel really full. I kept away from the restaurants and stocked my fridge early. I also practiced on and off for a couple weeks prior to pre-op start. What kind of pre-op diet did your surgeon give you? 16. Im curious... Even if you communicated with the supervisor as they ask.. Couldnt you just tell her the same thing "I had a procedure my doctor certified was medically necessary and im returning on _____ date?" Im not sure I'm clear on the problem? Im also out on FMLA so any insight is helpful. Sent from my 5054N using the BariatricPal App

    Looking for a buddy!

I hope you find someone soon. I would love a sleeve buddy but unfortunately I'm a bit 'older' at 36. That feels so weird Im sure I was just 20 about 5 or 6 years ago... Lol Anyway, dont wait, jump back in the fight and get back on your plan!!! Everyday is a new day ok. If you dont find someone soon, feel free to inbox me. We are all in this struggle together... No judgement here! Sent from my 5054N using the BariatricPal App
  19. Glad to see you are aware of all those blessings coming your way.... great job!!! Stay focussed on the positive and leave the negative in the dust! The idea of including your ex as dead wait is awesome, I second that one... lol! From one nurse to another (you got this)... Job well done!!!! Sent from my 5054N using the BariatricPal App

  21. You do not have to be specific... It is illegal for your manager to require it. I just told them my doctor found it "medically necessary for me to have a procedure and has certified that I need time off from _____ to _____. If your manager asks for details tell them point blank " I dont want this company to violate my rights to privacy so I will only say it is a procedure that my physician has certified a medical necessity and FMLA has approved". They will get your point. Sent from my 5054N using the BariatricPal App

    I don't get it.

Like I've stated in other posts... These surgeries help change whats on the outside, but if you are repeatedly irritated by others perhaps the inside could use some attention. Just a thought............. Sent from my 5054N using the BariatricPal App

  25. Hello everyone. Today I am post-op gastric sleeve Day 1. I must say I was very afraid about how I would feel, but Im barely hurting at all. I did have some gas pain last night (walking, gas-x strips and simethacone helped)... Barely any nausea at all ( Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App Thanks @@QueenBx! I was very nervous , but everyone was very professional and kind to me at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. My doctor (Charles Procter, Jr) has an excellent bedside manner and is a second generation gastric surgeon. I think he did a great job. I had umbilical hernia repair and robotic gastric sleeve. Not much pain or nausea, though I was medicated for both in the hospital. My throat was sore from intubation during the procedure, but I got him to prescribe a spray that helped a lot. I was released the next morning after I ate clear liquid Breakfast with no problems. My stomach actually feels tighter today (post-op day 2), but its beatable. I do have some gas but walking definitely helps with that. The jury is still out on gerd issues. Now that im home if I could just get these fluids in... but overall everything is going well. Thanks for the prayers! Sent from my 5054N using the BariatricPal App
