I love your food funeral. That's great!!!! Maybe I'll do the same, I like to say more of a "see you later" knowing I'll replace a big mac with something like a tiny turkey burger. Still trying to figure out what to replace buffalo wings with ... my nemesis Hope the rest of the trip goes well!

I second walking circles in your house. When I was first post op, it seemed like the only thing that would help liquids go down. We have an open bottom floor so I just walked in circles (this is usually my dogs race track) but it helped a lot!

I'm hoping mine don't go. In college when I was thin, I was still a D. That being said, the first item I had to replace was bras! Go figure! I was in a 42DD. Hoping to get back to my old normal of 36D.

rolosmom7 got a reaction from recreatingcate in Post op, PCOS and pregnancy prevention, oh my!
I have endometriosis - take continuous bcp. Surgeon (male) asked me to stop, his PA (female, sleeve patient) said I'd be fine. Without cbcp - I'd be in the hospital in pain. So I took my bcp until surgery day. I knew the risk and weighed it and that was my decision (with my PAs blessing).

Like shelterdog said, I advise aganist stocking up on anything (ok maybe the wipes!) Your tastes will change and you'll tolerate a shake one day but not the next. Same with me for liquids. Powerade zero was a big no. G2 was good for a bit. Then Vitamin Water zero. Now crystal lite lemonade and chick fil a diet lemonade. Or flavored black tea when I can get it from the shop at work.
So, in 2 months I went through all of those and I think that's pretty common. Good luck!

I am just about 5 1/2 months out. The weight loss has slowed down a tad but is still headed in the right direction. Had been stuck at 205 for the past week or so. Weighed myself today and was happy to see 203lbs. That bumped me from double to triple digits, 101lbs. to be exact. Definately made my day! 23 to go and I will be a happy camper!!

So here's something that's a little sad to me. Yesterday, the OP @@Anthony74 reached out to me via private message and I feel like we had a very nice exchange. He totally understands where I was coming from and I appreciate the fact that he took the time to talk to me one on one. What an adult thing to do!

Yet, we still have people bashing others for their POV when this really wasn't their "battle" to fight. We've got one chick who claims to be a counselor starting entire threads and hurling out nasty names. We have people using the words idiotic and stupid and bullies. We have people dramatically announcing that they will never ever post on these boards again. (Insert dramatic swoon here).

Why not just ask a question? Start some dialogue? Stop taking everything so freaking personally? Act like adults instead of middle schoolers? This is the internet, people. This is NOT an "us against them" scenerio.

    JEEEEEEZ!!!

pizza? So far, the only thing I'm genuinely missing is the ability to chug a bottle of Water. I've always been a huge water drinker. Now it's almost a chore. But... really I miss nothing and I'm only 40lbs down. 85 to go!

I would definitely contact your surgeon ASAP. You'll be lucky if you don't develop a leak in your sleeve. What you did was the equivalent of breaking your leg, then cutting off your cast 4 days after coming home from the hospital and trying to run a mile...
Look, I know how difficult the pre-op and post-op liquid phases are. You just want something substantial and solid, but this is major surgery and you just can't give in to the temptations, or you're risking your life.
Hope you get back on track, but really, call your surgeon.

Some people get fat injections to fill in what may be "harsh" angles. Often under the eyes for dark, deep under eye circles. You could always consider that.

You won't be hungry. My nut told us this, but I didn't believe it. I have a 300 page manual - I was prepared. So prepared, we have enough Jello until 2020. I thought I'd be starving and need it all.

Your surgeon didn't give you a plan? My plan said 800-1000, but I'm just now able to eat that at 2 months post op. I'd make sure you stay under 1200 at least.

Vets - do you ever get to a point where you can drink an entire glass of Water again? The eating plan I've adjusted to, but I'm so frustrated with this inability to drink when I'm thirsty (which is always).
Do you get the ability to chug a cup of Water back? Would love to hear some experiences. Thanks!!

@@elisa5150 You'll quickly learn who to go to when you need a no-crap answer and will have to just ignore the rest. There's a lot of filler here, but the good members are worth their weight in gold. I don't know what I'd have done since June without them, and I really think a huge part of my being successful since surgery is knowing I have 24/7 support here if I need it. And I love that you titled this 'Fishgate'

Wow. 10% become addicted to alcohol? That's an interesting statistic.
I had 1 swallow of vodka/cranberry (diet cranberry lol) and the burn was not good. I dumped the rest of it. So no alcohol for me yet!

rolosmom7 got a reaction from The New Kel in How did WLS effect your marriage...
I've seen no ill effect on my marriage - but I think it's REALLY important to ensure you're on solid ground with the same expectations in advance.
I work with a therapist, and when needed I take my husband. He will eat whatever I cook, and won't bring garbage into the house. But we agreed on that well, well in advance.
It took 15 months from surgery consult to approval, a lot of that "extra" time was spent making sure I was in the game mentally. Your spouse, in my opinion, is a partner who should be in the game with you.
