Should I convert from my Lap Band, to the Gastric Sleeve? My band has slipped and not restricting!
Had the revision back in Sept 2016, after years of issues with my band, took some time for approval but once approved had. Now down to 158. Been at 158 for about3 months, but very happy with my weight loss. Dr told me would not lose as fast as sleeves that never had band, but she's very happy with my loss. Personally want to lose another 20. Best decision I ever made. Hopefully you had your bye now or at least its scheduled good luck

Questions
I had the revision in September and have lost total of 37lbs since day of surgery, my sister had surgery 3 years ago and had lost 50 lbs during same time period but she had more to lose than me. My Dr told me everyone is different and with the revision you sometimes weight loss is slower, but I am happy with my progress. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Which Dr to see
Ok had surgery in September 2016, surgery went well, a few issues after but since end of November everything good. Last saw Surgeon in November. Now in 2017 new insurance does not cover bariatric serves at all, no follow up visits. If I go to Bariatric Dr. I have to pay full price for visit which runs around $250 a visit and they want me to see nutritionist which is $90 per visit, or my primary which is $35 a visit. How necessary is it to follow up with the Bariatric Dr. They want me to come 6, 9 and then 12 months, then 1 x a year. Think I can get away with seeing primary unless he or I feel there is an issue?. Pre-surgery wt 214. Day of surgery 201, now 167. I had reversal from band to sleeve. I feel great. Thanks in advance for advise. BTW, still paying off surgeon and hospital from surgery. Band to sleeve failure and revision questions
I had the revision to sleeve on the 29th and have lost a total of 33lbs since day of surgery. I definitely feel restriction, more than I had with the band. My stomach does churn some times but once I eat a tums all better. Do have some issues with head hunger, but if I drink some cold Water usually goes away. Hope things go better for you. Agree with Sai maybe talk to your surgeon or get second opinion. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Addicted to My 600 pound life.
Ok I am now hooked on the Fat Dr show. Just started watching on YouTube as I am in the states. Love this Dr. So much nicer than that Dr on the US show. Have to look away during the surgeries as can't watch that but good show. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Coffee Question?
My DR told me no caffeine for first 30 days. I did drink decaf just to get taste of coffee, started drinking 1 cup reg coffee a day after 30 days. My stomach cannot handle more than that. My surgery date was 9/27. Good luck. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Conversion to sleeve in one surgery
Was easy for me. Had my done on 10/27. Had a little issue at 5 weeks, bent over wrong and pulled my inside stitches, out of work for 2 more weeks. But other than that everything was great. Easy recovery. I have lost total of 31 lbs since surgery. 41 with post op weight loss. Was a size 16 almost 18 pre-surgery now 12's are getting big. So happy had the surgery. At a stall right now, been same weight for 2 weeks, but working on it and I am sure it will come off. Best decision I ever made. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

How slow or different is Revision weight loss?
I gained all my weight back. I had a another slip, Dr took out all Fluid and told me time to think about revision. Unfortunately my insurance would not pay for that Dr to do it, so had to find new Dr. Who I love.. Had surgery on 9/27 HW 211, SW 201 CW 177.6. Lowest weight with band was 166. Dr. Did tell me that weight would probably come off slower like 2-3 lbs week and not worry about stalls as long as following plan. Still think this was best decision I made. Good luck. Denied again and surgeon's office is silent
I have Aetna and they denied me also, they approved removal but not revision. I wrote a long detailed appeal, showing all the issues I had wit the lap band, dates of fill, slips and so on. Got all info from dr notes. Finally after 30 days they approved. I know there are law firms that help with appeals to insurance if you want to go that route. Sorry not sure of the cost. Hopefully an appeal will work. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

2 week stall
Yep normal I've been on a stall for 2 weeks. Surgery was 9/27 was so 201 now 177.6 for 2 weeks. Unable to exercise yet, I pulled inside stitches and in pain if I bend over or turn wrong. Dr said normal for stall, especially if no exercise. Nothing can be done just need to wait to heal. But also had stall 2 weeks out for over a week scale would not move. You will be fine just make sure getting fluids and Protein in the scale will move. Good luck Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

First Thanksgiving
I am 2 months out. Did good. For dinner had a slice of turkey, a spoonful of sweet potato casserole and one bite of mashed potatoes with a drop of gravy. No stuffing, looked at it longingly as it's my moms recipe (which my whole family thinks is the best). But I was strong for once. I was full. I got up from table and played with my grandson and great nephews to get away from temptation. But I think easy for me as my sister has Thanksgiving. I just did sides and pies (which I did not eat). You should be ok, just get back on track today. We all have those days. Don't beat yourself up over it. Have a great weekend. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
