    Diet After Band Removal

Had my band out on 9/21. Also had hernia repair and scar tissue causing my liver and stomach to fuse together removed. I'm on second week of soft diet until follow up visit. My esophagus has been fussy and my stomach crampy. Plus I have diarrhea. I'm guessing this is why he has me on this diet. I don't think I could tolerate solids quite yet. 2. Her mom should take her to the children's hospital associated with the city they live in. They should have a wellness and nutrition department. Start there. We did that with our daughter who rapidly started gaining at the age of 7 years old. Her pediatrician did nothing. She exercised daily and was on a very healthy diet for years. She was tested with the best specialists in endocrinology in our city. They discovered she had a metabolic disorder, an endocrine Disorder and she started to become pre diabetic. They tested for pcos, cushings and many other disorders. After years of treatment and monitoring, exercise , PT, she was given the Bariatric sleeve by one of the few hospitals in the USA doing the procedures on adolescents. She had it done at age 15. It was a very long process and its a lot harder on a child but we had a great team do it and now she is healthy, happy and all her co morbidities are gone. 3. Is it normal to have a nauseating, burning stomach ache about a week after lap band removal? I felt sick before eating and after eating a soft diet as recommended by MD. Has anyone been experiencing this? It feels similar to stomach flu. It's mostly upper stomach discomfort. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. I had my lapband of 12 years removed 5 days ago. It was much more painful then expected. Instead of 4 incisions as planned I ended up with 7. I had a hernia repair. The lapband was placed a bit higher then it should have been. My stomach was adhered to my liver with scar tissue. I'm still very distended and in a lot of pain from surgery. I am going to get either the sleeve or bypass in late December. Does anyone have any suggestions for the next 3 months to help me better prepare for surgery? I did not know that I would be in this amount of pain. Is getting the sleeve or bypass just as painful? The lapband wasn't even as close. I want to make the most of my 3months til surgery so please make any suggestions. I'm on mushy foods and I still feel really full and distended when I eat. Does this feeling last forever? Thank in advance. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  7. I am feeling very unhappy. My Lap band is coming out on 9/21 after 12 years. I really loved it after losing 110 lbs. and being thin for 10 years. But I have had complications with pain and GERD for the last 2 years and the band was opened. I have gained all my weight back plus more. The band will be removed. I feel awful after being so fit and healthy for 10 years and having it taken away. I have to wait 3 months for my conversion and my surgeon is not certain if I will have sleeve or bypass. He believes I may have a motility issue. I hear weight loss after conversion is slower. I'm so worried and discouraged. I feel like going through this surgery and then the motility tests and the conversion surgery are going to be very traumatic and take forever. I know I may sound ungrateful but I have been suffering terribly with this quick weight gain in 2 years. The quality of my life has been horrible. I've had two back surgeries and I am on a ton of medication due to being so obese. I guess I am looking for anyone who has been in my position who can help make this psychology easier for me. I just need a pep talk to get me through the rest of this waiting and all the surgeries and pre op testing. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
