Don't know what to eat
This sounds like a way to justify doing what you know you shouldn't be doing. I'm a direct person and I know it doesn't win friends, but it seems like you need a direct friend to tell you straight up that you need to knock it off. Eat healthy food if you have to gag it down. Otherwise admit you want to go back to your old ways. Sent from my LGLS992 using the BariatricPal App

Hair loss
I'm actually kinda thinking about picking out a couple of cute wigs. My hair is quite short and any hair loss is bound to be noticeable. I don't have my surgery date yet, but I'm going to start looking around now. Sent from my LGLS992 using the BariatricPal App

Surprise supporter
On Monday I saw my psychiatrist and he really pressured me to investigate a non-surgical option. Really didn't listen to how I came to this decision and why. The whole experience left me deflated. Today I saw my PCP and it was a completely different experience. She was so happy for me. She said she knows how hard I work to keep my diabetes under tight control and that with my other health issues this is a very sound decision. She said I don't make excuses and work hard and she knows I have what it takes to be successful. I have been smiling ever since. Sent from my LGLS992 using the BariatricPal App

Surgery tomorrow
My pleasure, this is truly the best thing I have ever done. I'm realistic that there will be setbacks, disappointments, etc., but it is better than the alternative. I'm off my insulin and blood pressure meds and hope to come off all meds by yrs end. I wish you the best. Sent from my SM-T350 using the BariatricPal App May I ask about your insulin or maybe you can private message me. Sent from my LGLS992 using the BariatricPal App What did you want to know about my insulin? I was on Lantus injection and on Januvia pill. Both have been stopped and my blood sugar is in the normal range. On insulin my A1C went from 9.3 to 6.9 but that is still not normal. It will be interesting to see what it will be after surgery. Sent from my SM-T350 using the BariatricPal App I was wonder what all you took. How many units a fay were you using? I'm just trying to compare to see if I'll be able to get off of it too. Did anyone get a prescription for Emend to take pre op for nausea?
Ask them to give you anti-nausea meds in your IV during and after surgery. I always vomit if they don't. Sent from my LGLS992 using the BariatricPal App

smoking cigars?
My father died of cancer that started in his mouth. It was a horrible way to die. Believe what you will. I know what I saw and experienced. A man with half a jaw who couldn't eat the foods he loved. He still enjoyed a good cigar though. Then the cancer moved to his lungs and it was pretty much downhill from there till he passed 6 months later. Very sad ???? No one has mentioned hormones. I hear you can have a big release of hormones after surgery that can cause emotions to run high. Maybe that's effecting you as well. Sent from my LGLS992 using the BariatricPal App

Metabolism after VSG
My understanding of RMR is that it measures how many calories you need to take in to maintain your current "at rest" weight. Meaning, if you cut calories or increase activity you will lose weight. Can someone please explain if this is not correct. Sent from my LGLS992 using the BariatricPal App
