I love that, and agree we should pamper ourselves. One thing I have never done, but am seriously considering, is getting a massage. Actually, there is a place near me that specializes in foot therapy massage, and I think I am going to "reward" myself with giving it a try.

We were gone from home half a day each for the sleeve, and then home. Never even told my husbands adult son. If I had been working I could have taken 2-3 days off for vacation and no one would have known. I feel bad for the people here that have so much pain and problems, because at 66 my husband and I had so little pain and no problems.

My BMI was 52 when I started my liquid diet. That was on 01/13/16. Last time I weighed, 08/27/16, I was 37.3. I still have a long way to go but I am thrilled by that number!

I started with a BMI of just over 50 on Feb 2nd. I had surgery on March 21st. I currently have a BMI of 26.8. I have a little more I want to lose, but I feel amazing.

I started at BMI 50.3-54.9 (didn't weigh myself after a point, so not sure of exact numbers) Had the sleeve in January 2012, within a year had lost all excess weight. Have maintained a BMI of about 22 ever since. It's all in how you follow the program and use the tool you have been given.
    Best of luck tomorrow!!

When I started I had a BMI of 61. I had a one year pre-op period (insurance misfires etc.) and by the time I had surgery I was at 49. It took me about a year and a half post-op but I got down to a normal BMI (barely). I won't lie to you -- it was extremely hard work after about the first 8 months post op. I engaged in hand-to-hand combat with every single pound I lost. The sleeve made it possible for me to do what I never had been able to do before, but it did not make it easy. You really have to be willing to work hard and fundamentally change the way you interact with food. Good luck!

My BMI was 58. It is now 34. I have a lot of work left to do, but the relief this first year has been really nice.

Well... 5 weeks ago I had a BMI of 54.6 and last time I weighed which was on Sunday I had a BMI of 47.3. So I'll take that as a success
    Good luck tomorrow!

liquids should not trigger restriction. The only reason they do early on is because you are swollen and healing. The valve at the bottom of your stomach opens constantly to let things pass through and liquids pass like sand through the hourglass.
If you aren't feeling restriction, then you are healing better/faster than most people. Congrats, you can meet your Fluid requirements.

    1. You are not following your diet plan because you said you got bored with liquids and started eating other things early.
    2. Measuring your food, you will find 2 eggs are too much to be eating.
There were no assumptions in my comment.
    Good luck.

    Not necessarily.
Stick to the plan your surgeon gave you. Measure your foods and only eat/ drink what that amount is supposed to be. It's easy to get bored with liquids but it's imperative to give your body time to heal. chicken at not even two weeks out isn't the best idea. Neither is continually eating. My personal plan limits meals to 30 minutes. If it's not finished within that time frame it gets saved for later.

I never order a full meal out at restaurants anymore. I can always get something off the appetizer menu or the a'la cart list. Or, if one of my kids orders a salad, I have them add on an extra add on protein' option and ask them to put it on the side. I'll steal a few bites of my husband's veggies and done! Saves us $10-20 when we go out to eat, easily.

The only full menu item I can think that I've ordered is a Chipotle bowl. No rice, double Beans, extra cheese and sour cream, meat, fajita veggies, all the salsas... It's at least 4 meals for me.

If you don't intend to tell them the truth behind your weightloss then have some fun with it. Make up some horrible disease that would make them very uncomfortable asking more questions. You have cancer but are too devastated to talk about it. You got a parasite from eating at X restaurant and the doctors can't figure out how to kill it. Internal flesh eating bacteria has destroyed most of your GI tract. My brother in law does this all the time when people ask inappropriate questions and it's great entertainment to watch their reactions.

In my experience people don't notice weight loss on obese people until you've lost about 20% of your total body weight, so you may be in luck.
If people know you were out for some kind of surgery, but don't know what kind, you have a couple of options if they ask you what kind of surgery you had:
"I'm sorry, I'm really not very good at discussing personal medical matters, but I am fine now, thank you for asking"
"I'm sorry, HR advised me it's best not to get into personal medical matters at work, but I appreciate your concern. I am doing fine."
--pretend you just received a call or text on your cell and walk away while talking/typing into your phone as you apologize
"excuse me???" said in an air of mild disbelief, repeat as necessary
If someone flat out asks you if you had weight loss surgery, you can either lie, tell the truth, or say something like "wow, that's personal! Do you think I needed weight loss surgery?"
If they just comment generally on weight loss, say something like "hey, thanks for noticing! I've been working really hard!"
If they comment generally on your being gone, just say, thanks for your concern, I am doing great and am happy to be back at work.
Keep in mind that most people will figure out or assume you've had weight loss surgery eventually, and flat-out lying about it may make people dislike or distrust you. That may or may not be of concern, depending on your workplace, whether you want to count on any of them for referrals or references, etc. Good luck!

If you are asked why you were gone from work, just say you had personal business to attend to. If someone asks if you have lost weight, say yes and thank you.
Don't let anyone draw you into anything. Just smile and walk away.
