Seriously, I had a timer on my phone that went off every 8 minutes to remind me that "YO! ROB! Get your happy juice flowing again!"

Joking aside, it's a process. The first few days can be rough as your body tries to get used to what just happened to it. Rest, fluids, meds. You'll come out the other side!

No sermon here, but I quit about 3 months before the surgery.
I was smoking about a pack a day - 2-3 packs if I was drinking - and had been smoking like that for ~21 years.

I'd started to cut back a little and had been using a vape. It really helped me ease back on the smoking. My surgeon though said no nicotine whatsoever if I wanted to get sliced and diced, so I stuck to the vape and only used zero nicotine juice. Not gonna lie; the first few days were rough but I pushed through by gorging on sunflower seeds and carrots.

I've had maybe a dozen puffs since the middle of June and my surgery was in the middle of September. Honestly, ... f--- I feel great to be free of the smokes. I DO still smoke other things, but my surgeon gave me the unofficial go-ahead to enjoy that after a couples of weeks post-surgery.

I had to snag some new winter clothes and I had to drop 2 sizes down in shirts and I'm only a month and a half post-op.

Sounds like me! I'm a month and some change post-op and I honestly don't remember ever feeling this good. I've dropped 50+lbs since the start of the liquid diet pre-op and the weight is falling away. It's pretty f-ckin' awesome, yeah?

So ingot chopped on the 14th. I've been averaging 85oz of liquids and 75g of Protein via shakes. I've also been walking in chunks around the neighborhood and find myself racking up about 2 miles a day.
That being said, I was in a lot of abdominal discomfort. I thought it was the CO2 they pumped me full of, but I hadn't had a "movement" since the night before surgery.
5 days.
I hit up Amazon Prime Now for some broths and some Miralax. One dose, 4 hours, and I was a new man. I feel fantastic...
And every morning I see a lower number in the scale. Every morning.
40 years of being obese and I can't wait to see where I am in 6 months, 12 months, etc. I can actually see a future where I'm not handicapped by my weight. It's... Man... Yeah it's dusty in here.

I am5 days out from surgery and feel great! Energy is great and I had no complications or problems following surgery. Keeping up with fluids is not an issue and have felt no pain with drinking at all. So excited for what's ahead
