    sic1

    sik/

    adverb

used in brackets after a copied or quoted word that appears odd or erroneous to show that the word is quoted exactly as it stands in the original, as in a story must hold a child's interest and “enrich his [ sic ] life.”.

I have Molina but I would suggest calling your insurance and ask what they require. With molina pcos wouldnt be a comorbidity. Your insurance may be different. Molina requires BMI of 35 and above and 2 Comorbiditys or BMI of 40 with one. ( although the one depends on who you ask). Do your research. I went online and got the stage 2 paper work for Molina bariatric surgery and printed it out. I took it too my docs so they had it and knew what was needed. I got tired of waiting on everyone else. The only hospital that can do the surgery for this side of the mnt and medicaid is UW. So make sure you look into that as well.

Take everything you find to your doc and tell them " This is what my insurance wants for WLS. I have this this and this. I qualify. Please fill this out and submit it."

    Good luck!

Joining this convo. I'm 2.5 hrs away from Seattle. We just moved from Federal Way to Portland last week. Maybe a PNW meet up would be fun.

Oh man... (Ok, berry, shake it off.. you'll be ok. Just a harmless comment...*twitch* *twitch*) deep breath.. OOOmmmmmm
    ok.. story time!
So, when I was about 5 or 7, my brothers told me to be careful swallowing watermelon seeds because they might grow in my belly.
    I
    literally
    didn't
    eat
    watermelon
    for
    10
    years.
And, when I DID start eating it again, I spent like 30 minutes picking the seeds out of one piece.
After all that? Now watermelon hurts my sleeve! LOL!

Ooohhh, seriously, this whole 6 months prep time I've been unable to even think about puréed meat. I still get completely grossed out at the thought. I can totally picture puréed egg salad, though. It's so close to puréed already!
I've been thinking about toddler dishes/utensils but I don't have kids, never have. I can't picture myself eating off of Dora the Explorer or Nemo, honestly. What I DO have, however, is an extensive collection of unique dishes in all shapes and sizes. I intend to indulge myself with those.

I got my authorization today! This just got really real, you know? I've been working toward this since January, and it's so soon! In three weeks and two days I will be on the other side. Yikes!

I am glad that my surgeons don't require a pre-op diet. I feel like time is dragging. I really wish it would hurry.

I'm so excited that there are others waiting on July. I had hopped to be in the hospital in May so that I could use the whole summer for really getting my walking in and getting the hang of this new life. I was SOOO disappointed that it wouldnt be until July. A week before my 37 bday. I cried and ragged. I've gone though so much and to have to wait another 3 months.....Well, its been about a week since I found out so I'm feeling a little better.

With July just around the corner, I sat down and started writing list. My hospital bag, what Vitamins and my daily diet goals. I found myself feeling a bit lost as to what exactly I needed to be eating after surgery. I know my hospital doesn't require liquids they jump straight to soft foods.
Has anyone else felt the need to write stuff down and research a little more since surgery is getting closer?

I was scheduled for July 3rd and got bumped up to June 5rh! So I'm 4 days PostOp. I'm so relieved it's over! I'm sore but doing really well. I'm excited for the future!
I'm still overwhelmed, but getting the hang of it.

I definitely feel like I need to start preparing now for the mental aspect of post-op. Most of my problems with overeating stem from my head, not my stomach. I can lose weight and I know exactly how to do it. I have lost up to 60 pounds at least 5 times, but always put it back on plus some. I am going to start meeting with a therapist next week to start trying to work through the causes of my overeating. My biggest fear post-op is falling back into my old mind-set with food.
