I am on liquids and its not an issue. But I am very aware of the gas moving around. And it feels like it is stuck in my chest. I'll feel it bubble and roll up a little then stop. Like its stuck there. I was just curious if food being stuck would feel similar. My band is empty and there is no current restriction with anything I've had so far. Just thinking ahead. I had a guy friend I was somewhat close with. Nothing official but he was around most of the time the last few weeks. I asked him if he would go with me for the EGD and the surgery 2 weeks later. He said yes. He went for the EGD. But flaked all the way out 3 days before my surgery. No phone call, text saying he couldn't take me or anything. Its is now 3 days after and I haven't heard from him and he won't answer my calls. It broke my heart. Banded 9/6/16

The sent me home with Percocet. And for all I hear about them the pain really didnt call for something that strong. I took them the first 2 days anyway. Like why torture myself if I dont have to right? Crushed them since its written everything needs to be liquid or crushed. I usually take ambien at night. When I stopped the Percs I stared at that tiny ambien pill a long time before I said screw it and swallowed it whole. No issues. Slept like a baby. Banded 9/6/16

I hate logging. It's all fun an games when you eat 1 thing made of 2 things. But when eating 1 thing made of several things it drives me nuts. Banded 9/6/16

So how would you describe the difference between the gas pains you get the first week after being banded and being stuck? What was it like the first time your food got stuck? What were you eating? What should you have been eating/doing instead? Banded 9/6/16

After cursing out everyone in the house the first week of the liquid preop. Then saying screw this and eating those delicious white chocolate macadamia nut cookies from the mall 3 days before surgery. To spending the day before surgery crying because of a broken heart. And being emotionally numb from it til I woke up in the recovery room today. I must say it worked out fine. My surgery was flawless. Now I am about to sleep my first night banded. The incision pain is about a 3. Just enough of a reminder to take it easy when moving around. I am starving though. But I am on clears so I am allowing myself to nibble jello and sip clear beverages unchecked. Tomorrow I am gonna get some clear beverages with protein in them to edge off the hunger. It's only day 1 and I'm sure the drugs just havent worn off yet, but you know what.... I feel good.

I am happy that with my band I will eat less, but WHAT I eat will matter just as much if not more than how much I eat. And I am not trying to control everyones eating habits. I just need to control my own. Sent while fleeing from naughty food.

I dont get much. After a couple of cans of Protein powder and maybe a couple of cases of Soups there's a little left for them to get stuff for the house. Thats only about 2 weeks work of food. And that's being generous. I'm cashing out the rest of the month. Sent while fleeing from naughty food.

Yes FS does cover some. They cover Vega Proteins n Greens. Horrid stuff. And Orgain Plant base Protein powder. Great stuff I have 2 tubs hiding in a box right now. Because guess who came to me 2 weeks ago saying he wants to try Protein shakes in the morning..... And I told mother dear that I would be needed certain food and drinks after surgery so NO, she will not get anymore of my stamps than she already gets when I buy food for the house. Yup 17 year old twins and a 50+ mother. Who asked me the other day "Well since your gonna be on liquids the next 2 months does that mean we get to use most of your food stamps? I was utterly disgusted. Sent while fleeing from naughty food.

I am on the pre op diet now. But as things progress into the different stages I know I will have to fight my family members off my food. They will eat anything and everything. We have a lot of fend for yourself days in our house when food gets low. When there is no primary food left, they will set eyes on my diet food. Once thats gone they move on to whatever food shows up. Which is usually something I can't eat. So now they have eaten all MY food, and then they find other food that I cant eat. Now and I am thrown off my dietary plans. And its either dont eat, or eat things Iam not supposed to.They are doing it now and I am only on pre op. Lucky me they can't drink the Robard, but my SF Jello, and soup broths I have to damn near hide. Anybody else have these issues? Sent while fleeing from naughty food.

I dont have much family and friends here to support me in this. My teenage sons are oblivious. My mother nit pics and mostly just works my nerves. I dont have a boyfriend. However I have a guy friend who is taking me on surgery day. But it would be unfair to expect him to rearrange his life to look out for me long term. And I'm just wondering how am I gonna do this without the support I'd like from those around me. Any ideas? Sent while fleeing from naughty food.
