Ive been in a stall this past week. Going back to mostly liquid diet, hitting the Miralax and adding exercise to break it. Wish me luck.

IMO its good that now you aren't craving this yummy food
you don't want to eat that "nasty" heavenly food
not wanting to eat stuff helps being around all that food
i do understand it might be frustrating to see all that food around the table
it is hard being around people that are eating and eating and eating more
you are the one that is adapting to a new life with less food etc
they don't need to change, you can't expect them to
buttttt... they could be more considerate!!
    you "sound" like a youngun
take your own portion, don't let mom over stuff your plate
other people are good at that
try and keep your head up
gently remind people about your situation
some might care - others might say yeah your point
    take care hun
try and keep your spirits up
    while your weight goes down
    good luck bud

Someone asked me last week what I think when I see old photos of me. I'd reposted a photo from 2010 when I was probably at my heaviest. I don't like that woman. She is never coming back.

Here's the thing. The more junk you eat like that, the more you will crave it.
What foods are actually on the diet the doctor gave you? The best thing you can do for yourself is follow the plan. If the first surgery failed in the end and now you have a second chance, I would ask why you are self sabbotaging?
You need to talk with a therapist or I am afraid you will be right back where you started.
By the way, neither of those foods are on a fork tender diet and sugar and simple carbs will only make you crave them more. I literally have to go through a detox after indulging.....go back to the plan.
The other thing is you have a short period of time (honeymoon) period when you can pretty much do anything and you will still lose weight. If you dont leverage that time to begin eating healthy and exercising by the time it wears off, you will start gaining again. There are posts all over this board as well as others about what happens when you don't follow the plan.
The surgery is about 10% of weight loss, the head game is the other 90%. You need to change your behaviors for good.

My name is Kara, I'm 26 years old and from Pocola, Ok. I had the Roux-en-y Gastric bypass in December of 2010, I was 20 when I had it done by Dr.Roller in Fayetteville, Ar. Before I had surgery, I weighed 255 lbs with a BMI of 40.2. Now I weigh 189 lbs with a BMI of 32. I struggle REALLY bad with nutrient deficiencies and low Protein. I bruise VERY easily and get sick 2-3 times a year (I usually wind up with bronchitis or strep throat) But I try to manage. Any input is welcome! Glad to be here!

Thanks for the reply, I am excited and nervous all at once. The only one going with me is my mom, neither of us know any Spanish. Time to download a translator on my phone.

I had my surgery in Mi Doctor which is a small hospital but it was very clean. None of the nurses spoke English but the doctors did. It didn't really bother me because I had my husband and in-laws with me and my husband is an interpreter and my in-laws don't speak English either. I know enough Spanish to know the gist of a conversion but I can't conjugate sentences to save my life. Maybe learn a few words before you go. It will makes the nurses love you and want to help more.
As far as what to take with you:
    1) Extra throwaway underwear (tip: don't EVER trust a fart)
    2) Gas-X dissolvable strips
    3) Slippers with hard bottom
    4) Q-tips, Neosporin, gauze, tape (you'll need to clean and dress your wounds for weeks)
    5) Pillow (to hug on the ride home, bumps hurt, pressure helps)

I've completed half of the C25K program. I've attempted it before but never gotten this far because my back wouldn't allow me. I've gotten pretty good at putting my SI joint back in place with a foam roller!
I also have to take it a little slower. I pay close attention to my body and at the moment running two days a week allows me to recover and still make progress. Slow and steady wins the race, right? I'm also doing some light weight lifting and occasional Zumba. Monday I did legs and could only leg press 50 pounds. When I was on the soccer team I could leg press 400 pounds...I'm not looking to do THAT much again but I was kind of disappointed.
The scale went down 4 pounds then back up 3. That usually happens when I begin exercising so I'm not worried. On a side note, my legs are looking fierce! I'm getting my muscular, athletic build back. ????????

Wow. I can't believe it has been a year since surgery.
When I started this process I kept thinking, "I wish I could just fast forward a year!!" I'm quite impatient. It's finally here. While expecting a physical change, what I didn't expect is the amount of mental change I went through.
Even without this surgery I had a LOT go on the past year that challenged me and knocked me down. But add the surgery on top of it...Trying to find new ways to cope or deal with stress rather than eating. Learning how to forgive myself if I slip up. Figuring out that I'm stronger than I thought.
I still have many issues I'm dealing with. I don't know what the next year will bring but I'm more confident in myself that I have the ability to handle it and I will become a better person because of it.
I'm learning to love myself for the first time ever. It's interesting. I was disappointed in myself for so long and now that the disappointment is gone and replaced with pride I feel like a different person. Not different personality-wise. Different confidence-wise. For once I have confidence. Oh gosh...I'm going to break out into a Sound of Music song so I better get back to work...
