    Calcium citrate with Vit D

Walgreen's also has chewable that look and tasted like carmels..
  2. I'm sure you can return them to the store and use credit to get non carbonated beverages. I would not take the chance to drink them flat...

    So disappointed in myself.

@BrookTiffani..The first 3 days of the liquid diet were the hardest for me. Detoxing from calories, sugar and carbs make you stressed and tired and hungry! I fell off a few days in and I think I ate some chips! But next day I got back on track. Not sure what your liquid diet plan says but mine I was allowed one protein bar daily. I portioned it so I had some crunch with my liquids! Sugar free Popsicles are great, broths and sugar free jello and Proti shakes were delish! It's worth the work.. I lost 11lbs and it prepared me for post op! I'm 7weeks on Thursday.. 25lbs lighter! Keep the faith!! You can do this!
  4. @@carlacv There are quite a few no calorie beverages to try. I've liked the BAI brand flavored waters, their coconut waters are good too! The nestle splash is another good one and I love Arizona green tea.. zero calorie zero caffeine! I'd avoid anything that is carbonated!

    Today's the day!

    Good luck KristenLe!!
  6. I couldn't drink the required amount either.. So I had broths and SF Popsicles ..just do what you can to stay hydrated.

    Pretty diet

I did the two weeks and lost 11lbs. Not only does it help shrink the liver, it helps to detox your body from sugar and carbs. You're going to crave those foods either way..so better to get a headstart before hand. I'm 6 weeks out and down 25lbs total. The pre op diet definitely prepared me for post op.

Hunger 4 days post op. Normal?

@TheNewKel I will tell you my experience is that some of us post surgery still have hunger. I was on the liquid diet for almost 2 weeks pre surgery and 2 weeks post surgery. In any case it's a long time with no solid food. One of the pluses of sleeve is it's supposed to take away the hormone that is produced in that part of your stomach called grehlin. But in some cases like mine, it did not. The good thing is even when you get to solid food, you can't eat that much and get full fast. I'm 5weeks out on solid food now, but still get hungry. I'm just trying to make good food choices and downloaded a tracking app. I asked my bariatric Dr and he said not everyone loses their hunger. So my best bet is having my new love affair be with the scale and my mirror, and not food!!

    2 Months Post Op

    You look amazing!
  10. @@ginabee38 It's ironic that you posted this because today I am 5weeks post gastric sleeve surgery and on my first week of solid food. I'm not great at tracking, calorie counting, journaling etc. But I want to be successful, so tonite I downloaded an app called My Net Diary. All I did was type in my stats and goal weight. Then typed in what I ate.. Every food and brand name possibl e is in there, just click! So easy and it breaks down calories, fat, carb and protein for the day. I figured what the heck, I'm on the phone anyway! I also got these portioned little plastic containers Can find at Walgreen's, Marshalls or As seen on TV. They are 1cup, half cup etc. Takes the guess work out of it! If I don't have a plan, one that I will follow, I will fail. It's easy to fall back on bad habits.. Even with a tool. My mirror is my motivation!! I'm not giving myself a time limit, just a weight loss goal. Good luck on your journey.. This app has been a great resource as well!

    3 weeks out

4 weeks and stalled here too.. I think its a normal process, your body is trying to adjust post surgery and I know personally I started at a lower BMI, at 60yrs. Old I'm not going to have a fast metabolism either! My Dr said Monday at my second post op appt that the weight loss can continue between 12-18 months post surgery..So I'm just doing what I am supposed to be doing, next I will add exercise which I'm sure will help!

    DEEP, DEEP HUNGER

Thanks @ Browneyedgirl41, oddly enough, I find cooking and baking relaxing! I don't feel hungry because I am smelling (not tasting anymore) the food. Stepping up with some type of exercise may help me change my food focus, tire me out and help with weight loss. My kids are grown, hubby is retired and is kind of a grazer, so I end up cooking for others, dad, grandkids etc. You are right, I grew up Italian, food is a huge part of our families traditions, show of affection..I never had any weight issues all my life till peri menopause after 43.. Yesterday I turned 60..60lbs.and sleep apnea are in my way of perfect health so I am on a mission to rid myself of both!! We can do this! Keep up the good work!!
  13. Thanks for this recipe @@cbonet! As fall is here in the Northeast, I needed something to use the last of my garden kale and at the soft food stage get in more Protein.. I'm going to try your recipe!
