I meant to add that I lost 125# and made it to my goal weight. You can do this.

Most recent pics I have of this type.
The before was taken the day prior to my October 2015 sleeve surgery.
The during pic was taken last week.

There are two types of bariatric patients. Those who are chomping at the bit to get the surgery and get going, and those who have fear, cold feet, buyers remorse... however you want to put it. All I can say being on the other side for coming up to four years banded in January, is.....do it man! All the nonsense with timing, appointments, family stuff, personal stuff, whatever...is just that. Nonsense.
Don't procrastinate my friend. Jump into the deep end. Believe me...you will be in such a better place a year from now. Why delay that? And so you know...I went into this kicking and screaming. I would have done anything to avoid it but my back was against the wall as I was heading towards a wheelchair full time. This is me just over a year ago and the before pic was easily 50 lbs. less than I was day of surgery. So..not only no wheelchair in that picture, but here I was riding a friggin' bike in preparation for a trip to London...which included a ton of walking. So believe me when I say that the grin you see is 'gen-you-wine' happiness. Time for you to have your happiness too.
    Good luck!!

    Okay.. Clears throat**
Back in the days, when I would bend down to tie my shoelaces, I would have to sit up and catch my breath before finishing one shoe because I had a huge belly.. 3 months later, I don't have this problem to deal with and it honestly feels great!

The new gym I joined earlier this summer is under construction still but scheduled to open Jan 1. The one I'm at is fine, but this one I can walk to without planning and it's going to be MAH- velous!!!
    Some current pics-

    A panoramic shot

See that "set back" area there? Hello! Outdoor pool!!! On weekends, they will bring out the tiki huts and its margaritas pool side! This is a lounge pool deck. The lap swim pool and the exercise pool are just to the right and then behind it, so three pools in all.

To heck with the Country Club (which I will pass on my way), this place has everything from typical classes, weights, machines, nail salon, hair salon, estheticians for facials, etc massage therapists.
    I SO DESERVE this membership!
    And yes!!! Underground parking too!

Try Forever 21. I am 40 something, but I have two teenage girls who keep me fashionable. They have a lot of boho style tops in their contemporary collection. I love their dresses, too, but they can be a bit short so watch the measurements.

I wanted to get a goal outfit and realized I don't even know where normal sized women my age shop?! My 30 something friends are plus sized and my 20 something friends buy dresses so short I considered getting one as a shirt. I like girly, slightly bohemian style, similar to anthropologie. But nothing really jumped out at me on their website. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

So tomorrow 19:00hrs 9/13 is sleeve day.
Pre-op diet went well...lost around 20lbs in the two weeks. I'm motivated, I have had a word with myself and we agreed we are ready and excited about the future. No second thoughts.
However crapping myself with the magnitude of the next 24 hrs.
So this time tomorrow I will be post op and on my way to a better, healthier wardrobe... I mean life .
Thanks for the support from contributors here on the forum. Long may it continue. I look forward to sharing my before and afters at some stage ...!
See you on the other side.

My husband of 17 years was not supportive for 2 years that I wanted this done. It was very important to me that I have his support just in case something happened. We have 3 children together. He said he did not want me to have this surgery because this was an elective procedure and he could not handle the risk of losing me and leaving our kids motherless. I get it. 2 years later, he finally came around after I presented my case again, and the kids did too.
Fast forward to now, I had the surgery. My family has been my best support. They walked with me while I was post op, and they had Soups ready for me when I got off work. I could not have gone through this without them.

Note to self: I don't have to take this day all at once but rather one step, one breath and one moment at a time. I am only one person.

A comfy place to sleep sitting up for 1-2 weeks. I sat up on the couch and kind of leaned to the side on a pillow. Sounds awful, but was actually very comfy!
A long strip of gauze or cloth. Make a loop, put it over your neck to pin the drains to, while you shower.
Other than that, recovery was so much easier than I expected. I expected to be incapacitated, instead, I was doing all of my normal stuff from day one, just slower and walking like Quasimodo, lol! And, of course, no lifting.

I made roasted chicken for lunches this week. I'm proud of myself because before I started this WLS Journey, I would have made stuffing with the chicken and eaten that more than anything! I skipped the stuffing this time. Apples and Onions are stuffed in them to add some flavor and basted with apple cider. I'll make a few lunches and a big Soup and still have some left for the dogs.

Not food related: Online shopping at Amazon.
How I deal: I keep them in my basket for a long time, reviewing it often and then deleting the unneeded stuff. Hehe
    food related: I love chips.
How I deal: Mainly, I don't buy them anymore. If I do eat them, I limit myself to eat half to one serving and cut back on the rest of the day's food to stay in my calorie range.
This past year, the guilt outweighed the yumminess though so that's why I just stopped buying them.

I started a new position right after my WLS. When you work with people everyday they notice- but they see the gradual loss. My boss (who I couldn't stand- feelings were mutual) went to work at another location. She is an athlete, and weighs 100#'s soaking wet. I saw her recently and she paused, staring at me confused and said "are you losing weight." I responded "yeah, I'm working at it" but I was totally thinking "that's right wench- you aren't the only skinny b!tch"

I ran into my ex-mother-in-law at Walmart. She didn't recognize me. I had to tell her who I was. She just stood there with a blank look on her face. I hugged her (she has always disliked me, I'm passive aggressive). Anyway, sh e told my ex and he immediately text me to tell me how she didn't recognize me and how great I looked. In your face witch...

I had WLS in 2013 and lost almost 170 pounds in 10 months. This year, I decided it was my year to finally get my flaps removed. What a difference!!! I hope everyone can see the attachment.
My surgeon was excellent, very caring, and most importantly very experienced and knowledgeable about what he does. Couldn't be happier!

*being able to fit in the Rangers stadium seats
*Not having to hide in the background of every picture
*Not having to take 'face-only' pictures

I did that. Gained 13 lbs and had no regrets. Now that I am post op, I am glad I got to eat and drink all my favorites before the pre-op stage. My last meal was amazing. Now I am content with the post op requirements and I have no cravings.

Note to self: I don't have to take this day all at once but rather one step, one breath and one moment at a time. I am only one person.
