  1. I hate underwire! I used to love them, actually used to sleep in them. But then one day, I was attacked. All I remember was a quick jab to the ribs followed by profanities that would make the devil himself blush. Due to the size of the pups, I am required to have underwires. I still hate them. And they still hate me. As I type this out, I am being jabbed in the center of my chest by a foul fiend. I shall now remove the demon and set it ablaze... Seriously, why can't they make a bra that supports without wires and padding? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  7. @@mecapone51 thank you for all the info! My first appointment with Dr. Ward is on sep 9th I think the support group is a part of my insurance requirements. 8. @@mecapone51 thank you for responding. Was starting to think I was the only person to be meeting with him lol. I noticed on the Morristown medical center website, it mentions something about all testing done over a 24 hr period. What does that mean? If you don't mind me asking, how long was it from first visit to surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Looking for people that had surgery at Morristown medical in New Jersey. Very curious, the site says all testing is done over 24 hrs... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. @@LisaMergs men actually do worry about these things. My hubby just weighed in and lost 70lbs (diet and walking everyday for 4 months) and he is insecure about the skin starting to drop down there. He's afraid it will cover and hide the goods. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. @@krissyleigh I don't have a surgery date yet. I have my first meeting with the surgeon next week. I can totally understand being emotional. A few months ago I cried so hard I gave myself a migraine and an anxiety attack. Beating myself up emotionally screaming "how did I let this happen". I felt like such a loser. I'm so thankful that these surgeries exist to help the us gain our lives back and allow us another chance at taking full control being armed with a very powerful tool. I have full confidence that we will make better decisions on what we put in our mouths. Will it be difficult? Of course! But look at all the others on this site. All ready and willing to guide us and help us stay on track. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. I woke up a few days ago wondering the same thing. But then I thought back to being 15 and starving myself to lost 10lbs only to gain it back. Then after having a baby and gaining 80 lbs and taking fastin losing 60 but feeling like I was having a heart attack. Then I thought about all the other diets I had been on did okay only to gain back and become depressed. I have not had my sleeve yet. But I am not viewing it as a magic wonder. YOU are still responsible for your decisions of how you eat. You still decide if your going to exercise. So YOU are in control. Personally I am looking forward to being full after just a few bites. Do I love food? Yes. Yes I do. But I love my family more and want to be around to see my sons become husbands and fathers. 18. Woah! Outpatient?! Damn they kept ME three days after a c-section! I strongly suggest you talk to dear hubby and make arrangements for someone you BOTH TRUST to bring you home. Doesn't matter how near or far your hospital is. The world is full of opportunistic scum waiting for a half sedated female. Sorry if my opinion scares you. But it's the truth Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  20. Having a late Breakfast a few months ago back I developed a stomachache so bad I prayed for death. Told mother in law she said, maybe your egg intolerant. Try to eat them again. So I did. Just some scrambled eggs. Guess what? PAIN CITY. Over the past few months I have eaten many things that contain eggs. Baked goods, pancakes, waffles mayo etc. with no issue what so ever. This morning, like a fool, I said to hubby Ohhh eggs! And guess what? That was 5hrs ago and I wanna cry from the pain. So my question is: will this become an issue dealing with Protein powders and shakes?
  21. No kids for me! I ended up having to have a hysterectomy five years ago for cervical cancer, so it's just me, the hubby and fur babies! First off, congrats on getting rid of cancer! I hope and pray it never shows its ugly self within your body ever again. Fur babies are the best ain't they? After 3 boys (practically men) I got a baby long hair calico cat. She's 4 yrs now. But still my baby. Self pay huh? I would ask for discounts! No seriously. I would. I was reading another post where parts of your surgery may be tax deductible. (Vitamins, binders etc) I don't think the surgeon himself has those answers but I'm sure the Cordinator does. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. I'm sitting here now trying to create a list as well. My appointment is in 10 days. So far all I have is: how long is the procedure. complications during and after. healing time. if my smoking is an issue. His mortality rate. How long will I be in hospital. What do post op appt consist of. Do I really have to do 6 months of evaluation. That's all I have as of now. Hoping to see others replies in case I'm missing something important. Not sure if your name reflects the year of your marriage. You may want to ask about pregnancy after your surgery. I have no intention of any more kids. 3 teenage boys are plenty for me lol. 23. Finally, someone who's my age and weight range. Hi! My name is Jane, I am 37 current weight is 360 lbs. my height is 5'2 BMI IS 64 I am nowhere near a surgery date as of yet. But looking forward to seeing how you progress as we're in the same range. I have my first appointment to meet the surgeon on September 9th. Not sure exactly what to expect aside from the usual health questions. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. Seems like it's going to be much more expensive. We're a family of 3. I know the grocery list won't actually change. Protein and Vitamins are rather expensive no matter where you buy them. Where it actually saves money in my opinion is in the health care bill! I'm really looking forward to my first appointment. I even called to see if the Dr had any cancellations so I could get in sooner. (No luck there) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
