Fat feet. WARNING: gross photo included.
Hi all! I am set for very first appointment Sep 9. I was wondering if anyone experienced losing weight in your feet. I'm not talking about the length of your foot. I mean the width and the tops. Mines are so fat on top that I can not even wear sneakers let alone real shoes. I've been stuck in crappy flip flops for a few years now. Family seems to think its Water. But who retains water for 3 years!? I will attach a pic so you can see what I mean. WARNING. THE ATTACHED PHOTO MAY CAUSE GASPS, fainting and vomiting. Ps. I know, I need a pedicure. But arthritis pain has been very bad the past few weeks. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

@@Inner Surfer Girl food scale. Good idea! I'm so thankful for all of you. This is giving me a chance to gather all these things before hand so I am not overwhelmed once the process actually starts. @@AvaFern congratulations keeping the weight off! When you say mix, I assume you mean in a blender (another item I need) I have seen so many mixed reviews on the ready made shakes. I guess it's simply trial and error. Or in this case, hold it down or puke it up lol. Looking at your menu, I am really looking forward to being able to eat so little and be full. I'm like a bottomless pit example: yesterday hubby and son left for a over night golf trip. I ordered a thin crust pizza and within 6 hrs managed to eat the whole damn thing. I try telling my self I'm full and not to eat. But I break down and eat anyway. I can't wait to have this done. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I'd like to thank you all for your advice and experience. Far to many of you to try and tag. After reading all your posts and talking to hubby, I decided that even if coffee is a no go, I am still moving forward with this surgery. My knees and back are getting worst as each day passes. I'm only 37! I see 80 year olds get around better than me! And yeah, it pisses me off that I allowed myself to get to this point. I have a plan for the smoking... Vape with no nicotine. The chocolate cravings won't be an issue because the Protein shakes come in a variety of flavors. Now the biggest issue is..... Waiting. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Need a little pep talk
Hi @@tiffanyt I have not even met with my surgeon yet. But I wanted to ask, if you don't mind, you said you went from band to sleeve. Why? My family is suggesting band, but I think I may be better suited for sleeve. Was you not getting the results you needed? Or a complication?... And OMG! 100 lbs is amazing!!!! Keep up the great work. I'm sure the scale will catch up soon. Wish I had advice for you Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

List of necessities and pricing
Happy Saturday everyone! So, my insurance is going to be covering the surgery (once approved) and now I'm sitting here wondering what the grocery shopping bill will be like for me. What is the average epic that you all spend on necessities for this surgery? Protein shakes, Vitamins Etc. I know this kind of seems like an odd question, but I don't want to going to sticker shock right after surgery LOL Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Oh my so many of you to tag lol @ I have not met with anyone just yet. I literally just started this whole thing. My very first appointment is September 9th. I am really hopeful that I can keep my coffee. I just don't know for sure if I can give it up. It's a scary process. The two surgeries I have in my life was both C-sections. And I managed to screw up the after care on the SECOND ONE! This is a much more risky elective surgery and I just don't want to screw it up. I'm thankful to have found this site with everyone willing to share his/her experience I know every situation is different. Maybe some of you started off the process smaller than others? Maybe some had different health issues ? I guess I'm over thinking it before even meeting the surgeon. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

1-2 cups is awesome! So just curious... I'm not a Breakfast person at all. Breakfast for me is like 3 pm. If I was to have coffee with stevia or Splenda, and skip the "breakfast" part would that be okay? Or no way? And I mean during the pre op and post op. @@OKCPirate from what I am seeing coffee is a huge no no which makes me very sad. I say I won't do the WLS because I am afraid I will have a breakdown and drink my coffee and idk, mess up the whole surgery. So for the past 2 days now I have been reading everyone's experiences and I applaud each and every one of you for having such discipline and to those struggling, my prayers are with each and every one of you. I have been overweight my entire life. The past 10 years I have gained and gained so much that I am now just over 350 lbs this is the heaviest I have ever been. I have developed sever arthritis in my left knee and can start to feel my right knee going. Thankfully, I do not have high sugar or blood pressure no issues with cholesterol or anything like that. I do get winded VERY EASILY, stairs are my enemy. Walking in general is painful. Since age 5, I have suffered from migraines and take a medication (when they strike) that contains caffeine. I started following a few people on Instagram who had WLS and was amazed at the transformations. Over the past 10 years I have done my fair share of diets losing a few pounds only for it to come right back and then some. I was a member of a gym, I would go a few times a week. But then the arthritis kicked in hard core to where I fall down a lot. Dr after dr mentioned WLS. after finding out recently that my insurance covers it I got the support of my family and currently am set to meet the good Dr on September 9. I joined this site a couple days ago to see the experiences, ask some questions and everyone has been very helpful! Thank you all! I understand this surgery is not magic. It requires dedication, hard work and sacrifice. I adore carbs, bread and Pasta is life! Coke, ginger ale and soda in general I can not eat without. chocolate... Dear sweet love of my life chocolate. Candy not so much cake. I am willing to part with you all. I know I will miss you and maybe, just maybe we can have a stolen moment together in the future. The deal breaker for me with this WLS is coffee. I could give a crap about tea and booze. But my beloved coffee I caN not do without. Wait, let me rephrase that. Without coffee , heads will roll. I am willing to give up smoking (cigarettes) I don't do drugs don't care about booze. And willing to leave behind my chocolate and carbs. I hate to say it but coffee may be the thing to stop me from doing this. Thanks for reading. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
