Kearner reacted to jess9395 in Snacks !
cheese. Nuts. Jerky. Ostrim meat sticks. No sugar added Greek yogurt. Cottage cheese. Laughing cow cheese. Cold cuts, rolled up with cheese/cream cheese (some times I put cilantro or green onion or pickle in the middle, sometimes I grill) tuna salad, celery stuffed with peanut butter/cream cheese, turkey pepperoni, string cheese, hard boiled eggs, laughing cow cheese. Can you tell I like cheese?

Kearner reacted to James Marusek in Snacks !
After my RNY gastric bypass surgery, I found that softer foods such as chili and Soups went down much easier than harder foods such as steak and chicken, so that is what I concentrated on. I have included some recipes at the end of the following article. http://www.breadandbutterscience.com/Surgery.pdf

Sounds like you're back on track. Keep up the good work. Two steps forward one step back is better than no steps forward. Best of luck. [emoji106]

Kearner reacted to Savagegirl in Another post about stalls!!
I'm in a stall at 7 weeks out myself. Same 3 pounds up and down for a week or so. I need to walk more, I'm sure.
There's not much you can do about the Hair loss but I hear it stops at about a year and you'll grow it back. It's an internal thing due to the shock to your body from the surgery and the malabsorption of nutrients. Just keep up with the Vitamins. Good luck on getting out of the stall soon! I have the same fear that my body stopped losing weight already!

Kearner reacted to Myaiku_Kuraitani in Another post about stalls!!
I was in a stall for like two days. Before that a week. I figured out why on my own though. The first time I needed to eat more and get more Protein in than I was getting. The second was probably from the Taco Bell I ate... I'll never touch Taco Bell again though, it made me feel like crap 10 minutes after eating it and once I made something myself, I immediately felt better... And the weight started coming off again.

Kearner got a reaction from Alexandrya in How often do you weigh
I have been daily but am going to try to switch to once a week- too many variables for the day to day - makes me crazy!!!

I worked at the same place with an elderly couple for 2 years I'm 6 months out, down 60lbs since surgery 99 since I started last January. A couple weeks ago he finally says I just noticed you've lost weight, whats happened. Really took that much lol.

Kearner reacted to Redmaxx in Not a lot of comments on weight loss?
If someone sees you everyday they may not really notice the weight loss. People at work don't say anything to me about it. However if I see one of my friends from the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) who hasn't seen me in months they will say something (after they finally recognize who I am).

Kearner reacted to bostonmama in Not a lot of comments on weight loss?
I've lost about 80 lbs now and most people at work haven't said anything. Many in my personal life don't say anything either. At this point it's pretty much impossible for people to not notice, so I think they just feel like its a touchy/inappropriate subject.

Kearner got a reaction from Monasmle in When did you notice your first stall
I am 8weeks out and currently in a stall - I've been hovering around the same weight for 3 weeks...... so frustrating but I was at my nut yesterday and she said I'm exactly where I should be ! I even get to add in some more foods:)
I know I'm taking my Vitamins and getting all my protein&liquids so I have faith it will start again.
It is nerve racking though !

Kearner reacted to MCE1205 in Any tips on chewing slowly?
After a year post RNY I still eat too fast. I chew food but just eat fast, always have.

Kearner reacted to gryffen in Any tips on chewing slowly?
We have a saying we use to help us remember to slow down.
20/20/20
Chew for 20 secs
Wait 20 secs before another bite.
Meal should last no more than 20 minutes (too much on plate!)

Kearner reacted to sleevinpops in Any tips on chewing slowly?
This is probably the most difficult to do. I have had (regrettably) been sick twice from eating too fast. While it was not pleasant, it did help me focus on slowing down. Kimberly is right, just put down the utensils in between, and you may focus more on what's in your mouth than the next bite.

Kearner reacted to kimberb in Any tips on chewing slowly?
Try putting down your eating utensil down between bites. This has helped me. It makes me more aware of how I am eating.

Kearner reacted to Irish Girl in NW in Any tips on chewing slowly?
Same here. I am on soft foods and although I have not thrown up, I have ate too fast and just felt awful---like someone was kneading my stomach like a making a loaf of bread. I try and take 30 to 45 mins to eat....it's not fun to keep running to the microwave to keep warming my little portion up but better than feeling like a Mac truck ran over my Stomach! It's a learning process for sure!
