  1. Anyone have any good ideas for snacks ? Preferably ones that are quick and don't need to be cooked ! Also any suggestions for a website that has recipes ? I need some inspiration!!

    Snacks !

    All such great ideas !! And I love cheese too!! I just started eating jerky - what a god send! I've been munching on Chex mix lately and I know I should be! I'm not really eating too much but I know I need to increase my protein!
  3. Hi everyone ! I know there are some typical times when stalls happen after surgery. I had one at about 4 weeks and it lasted a few weeks! Now I am just coming up on 4 months and I have been fluctuating between the same 4lbs for at least 2-3 weeks. Is this another normal time? I'm so afraid I just STOPPED losing now ! Any info/ advice is welcome. Oh and my hair is falling out like crazy!! Anyone have special shampoos that seems to help ? Thanks !!

    So Tired!

    I am 8 days post op for BYPASS and I am just exhausted/ weak. Everytime I am trying to do stuff - cook for my family , laundry, take a shower I just feel so drained. My surgeons office said it's normal but.......Ughhhh lol!!!! Had anyone else had this to ?

    Dumping

    I feel deathly ill when I eat some foods at times - and other times the same foods don't make me as sick. I was just wondering if it was because of the sugar content in my body at the time Ect.... for example - I snuck a small scoop of peanut butter and now feel horrible. Hot, shaky,stomach cramps, gassy, nauseous. Every. Ow and again it happens and it usually happens with high carb or sugar foods but not high fat foods. Generally I eat well ( proteins and veggies ) but I have noticed this. Also, I think vitamins may upset me also??

    Losing 2 lbs a day -

    I had a bleeding ulcer also! One week out of surgery. It was very scary ! I became very sick I was also 3 days back in the hospital Like you ! I am now just 3 months out and feel much better. No issues with ulcers or gastric bleeding ! Weight loss has been steady! I'm Down 47lbs

    Thank you! I was wondering about sugar free ice cream, being that it's summer time here and I have kids! I wonder about the ice cream stands and their no sugar added ice creams !!??!?
  11. I don't really mind at all...... but I think it's funny hardly anyone comments on my weight loss. I know the first pounds aren't really noticeable- but I've lost 43 lbs now ! Again, I'm not bothered by it- but it's strange because the very few people who have said something - say what a huge change !! How can that be when others don't even notice lol Anyone else have this happening ?
  12. I don't know much about creatine ! A long time ago, when I was thin and working out a lot..... I had dizzy spells and went to the ER and when they ran my blood work I had abnormally high creatine - they admitted me for a few days to give me fluids/ meds I never really knew why it happened Wish you luck!!!
  13. Meryline is right! If you ate a lot of carbs or processed foods - the salt and carbs will have you retaining water. You probably didn't gain anything, really ! 900 calories a day isn't all that much in my opinion!

  15. Lol..... your totally right ! I don't really care that much..... but it makes me question my progress - which is dumb. I start thinking - hmmmm..... maybe I haven't changed yet. You know those head games?!?? I totally agree with you that weight is touchy - and that's probably it. And you are totally right about talking about it - it's almost easier when people don't say anything [emoji4]

    Hi! I have done the same thing - a couple of times I have heard many people say you can not really stretch your pouch..... I keep meaning to ask my surgeon !

    After surgery

    I had a lot of pain after getting home ..... but ended up having a gastric bleed one week out - passed out, had s seizure and threw up blood. It was so scary - but that's what most of my pain was from.... I was admitted back into the hospital for 3 days - and by week 2 I was feeling SO MUCH better !! Now at 8weeks out - I feel pretty great! I still dread exercising (except walking) but I figure the more weight I lose and more active I get - my endorphins and serotonin will kick in!!! Hahahaha

    I have been daily but am going to try to switch to once a week- too many variables for the day to day - makes me crazy!!!

    I have to eat carbs

    I am 8weeks out and my nut just added back fruits and veggie And while grains. She said to stay away from doughy bread, steak, rice, nuts and seeds and popcorn still. As far as protein - I'm up to 90-130grams a day and fluids up there too - 64+ I feel the same way about carbs but she explained if I eat the healthy (whole, unprocessed grains or veggie/fruit) for carbs - they won't affect me the same as "bad" carbs. She also told me to always focus on protein first and add the other stuff very slowly back into my diet. Not sure if any of that helps you !?!? [emoji1]
  22. This is me 2 months out I really couldn't tell a big difference until I found an old pic of me. Can't wait for the rest of it to come off !!

    Thank you everyone ! It does feel good [emoji4] I started at 247 and have lost 41lbs I have a way to go but it is a great start !
  24. I am 8weeks out and currently in a stall - I've been hovering around the same weight for 3 weeks...... so frustrating but I was at my nut yesterday and she said I'm exactly where I should be ! I even get to add in some more foods:) I know I'm taking my vitamins and getting all my protein&liquids so I have faith it will start again. It is nerve racking though !
  25. Whoa.... I'm having pain after eating to fast. I swear I feel so normal like I could eat like I used to (fast) But noooooo I'm definitely not! This has happened twice to me - where I ate to big of bites and too fast. Any tricks to slow me down ? Most of the time I'm fine but when I rush...... it's BAD NEWS
