  3. Hi guys, I'm now 8 days into my pre-op liver reduction diet. I eat an average of 5 low fat yogurts a day and 2litres of Water. I've LOST 25lb already in just 8 days. Is there anything wrong in losing too quickly? What has everyone else's losses been like on the pre op diet? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  5. I'm having my Gastric Bypass on the 11th of August. I don't have any medical conditions. But I'm going through this surgery to allow me to be a healthy weight to have children also. I want babies too. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  6. I've got my bypass booked in 11 days time and I'm excited to finally get a grip of my life again. However the only people I have told is my husband, mum, dad and sisters. NO ONE else knows including rest of the family and my friends. I don't want to tell everyone because I don't want people to think I have 'cheated' 'took the easy way out' and people are so ignorant and uneducated I cannot deal with fighting my corner with them. Did anyone else just tell their close close family and no one else? When I start to lose a dramatic amount of weight I don't know what to tell people when they ask how I'm doing it? What shall I do? What shall I tell people? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  8. Today is day three of my pre op liver reduction diet. I have a constant sweet taste in my mouth. Does this mean that I have started the chemical change called 'ketosis' ??? When I google sweet taste in mouth all that come up is 'diabetes' related which I defiantly don't have. Anyone have any ideas? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  9. Hey ladies, One of the main reasons why I'm having this bypass is so that when I get the go ahead in 12 months time I can start trying for a baby at a healthier weight. Has anyone on here got pregnant after surgery and how did you manage your pregnancy under the strict food regime etc? Any information would be fab. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  10. Thank you ladies. Also strange question. Are you allowed to wear pants (knickers) during the operation? I've heard different things? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  11. I'm on day 3 of the pre op liver reduction diet. My bypass is booked for 11th August. I've just started my period today. I can be on my period for anything up to 10-14 days and heavy. What will I do if I'm still on my period when it comes to the day of surgery? I'm scared that although I'm taking my multi Vitamin and mineral tablets that being on my period whilst only consuming yogurt my body won't cope and I'll become anaemic. Any advice ladies? 12. Thanks everyone. Hope you all do great too. Are you all American? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  13. Thanks James A lot of the people I read posts of on here are in the US, I'm in the UK so dont know how things differ. In all the information I've been given I've read that the death rate for a bypass is 1 in 200 people. This is what is getting me so nervous. What does the info in the US say regarding % of death rate and complications? Thanks Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  14. Hi guys. This is my first day on here. Today I started my two week pre-operative liver reduction diet. My surgery is booked on 11th August. So two weeks tomorrow. I'm so excited to finally begin this final preparation process, and to begin changing my life. Apart from my weight I have NO medical conditions, and am taking no medication. I have no weight related illnesses. So in that respect I'm very lucky. However I'm so anxious and scared. I'm so worried that something will go wrong during/after the operation that I find myself crying and panicking. Has anyone got any advice on how I can stay calm and not panic on the lead up and especially the day of my surgery? What helped for others to keep the, calm? Nervous

Hey. Last night was my last supper. I had whatever I wanted. But now I have 2 weeks of only fat free / sugar free yogurt, sugar free jelly and Water. What I would suggest is don't go overboard on 'eating everything you can't have post surgery' Why do you only have to do a 2 day clear liquid diet before surgery? Don't you have to do a liver reduction diet? Im in the UK but I've noticed a lot of members on here from the US. Where are you? Every patient in the UK needs to do a 2 week lover reduction diet.
