@@KristenLe, my surgeon is Dr Vithianathan (University Surgical in Providence). Medical says that I am a candidate for a home Titration study. That will put my on an APAP instead of the CPAP which is fine. I am back on the preop schedule for 9/13 unless they can squeeze me in sooner. Surgery will be within 2 weeks of that!! I am back to being happy!!

Great! Fingers crossed all goes well! I'm pre-op with same practice (but new site in EG) for 9/14 and hoping for a date before end of Sept. Maybe I'll see you in the OR! ????

I'm surprised they waited that long to test you. My surgeon sent me to be tested after his first visit with me because sleep apnea is so very common with his patients. It will go by fast but I understand how frustrating it is to have to wait. Get in ASAP and get fitted then you'll be on your way!

My appointment is for 2 weeks from now (which is why preop was canceled). If medical approves it before that appointment, they will move my appointment up.

I have been fighting for 2 years to make it through this process and get scheduled for my RNY. Now, when I finally see a light at the end of the tunnel, I hit an obstacle. My surgery was approved prior to doing the testing. Everything was going great, preop scheduled for 8/25. Then I got a phone call today from the surgeons office, my preop has to be cancelled because I have been diagnosed with moderate to severe sleep apnea. I have to be fitted for a CPAP before they can reschedule unless my doctor is willing to write a letter clearing me for surgery without the machine. Of course that is not happening. I just want to cry.

Our surgeon has us do nutrition and psych first, he submits for approval then does the rest. I guess just to be sure that we don't go through all that for nothing. I have no doubt that I will get cleared, it has just been delayed until I am fitted for the mask because anesthesia won't allow it until they have the settings. I just sucks that I did everything I could to ensure this was all done on time, I didn't want anymore delays, now this.

Ladies...I cried when talking to the APN before I went home. She was giving me all these instructions. So I asked what about all of my meds? When do I start taking those? She said OH NO, you don't have to take any of your normal meds. Everything had been regulated. You hear that? NO DIABETES meds, NO blood pressure meds, NO cholesterol meds!!!! OMG!!!! Listen! If it wasn't for the pain I would've done laps around my floor. Oh did I cry like a big baby!!! Lol I'm about to cry again just thinking about it. God is awesome!
Now this gas...yeah it sucks but I keep walking and I start burping. However my other end seems sealed Lol Oh well. Time to go get my sips. 1 week to go for my post op visit!!!

Thank you! He told me my insurance requires 3 months with the dietician and he didn't say anything else really. He told me that he could definitely help me and that's I'd look weight fast. I'm 5ft 3 and about 225. He just asked me questions and I told him I have bad arthritis in my knees, back, ankles and hips. I just hope I get approved after doing all of this. Lol. To pass the time, start practicing eating extremely slow. Sipping all day long! Wean yourself off caffeine and carbonated drinks! Also, rearrange your closet from biggest to smallest clothes so that as you lose you know what section of your closet and drawers to chose from! Rearrange your pantry and start stocking up on Water and things you will be using after your surgery! Start researching new ways to prepare your food and look up pureed food recipes! If you do all this and start making lists of things to get done and have done....your surgery will be here before you know it! It will also help prepare you mentally!!! Good luck guys!!!

I am so ready to get this done. All my testing is done and preop is scheduled for August 25. I am becoming very anxious and wish that it could be moved up. I want to get this done and over with....... What can I do to pass the time?

I had all my testing before my pre op and at my pre op.....all questions were answered and I had my surgery one week later!!! I met with my nutritionist the same day I had my pre op because I was a little over an hour away. I was self pay so I only saw my doctor the first initial visit and wanted the surgery, then all the testing was up to me and I did it all quickly, then my pre op and surgery one week after! All this for me was June 27 (first visit) to August 1st surgery!! All went quickly! My nurse told me some people wait and they still need tests 4 to 5 months after their first visit! So if you are ready, get everything you can do yourself done and call them after and tell them you are ready! Good luck!

Last week was a rough week, but I ended the week with great news Insurance approved surgery.

I hate clothes shopping because it requires that I have to see myself. It has gotten to be a major issue to see myself. I can't wait to be able to look in the mirror at the new me! Congratulations on your hard work! Keep it up you will get there.

@@Djmohr We were in Dallas a couple of weekends ago. I've lost 58lbs, but still have another 58 to go (Oh wow, I just realized I'm half way!). I have gone into the Lucky Brand store a lot for my hubby, he loves their clothes, but never have even tried a thing on! So this trip I was with a girlfriend of mine, and she was trying things on... so I decided to try on an XL shirt. I have big boobs, which haven't gone down much at all... but that shirt fit me!!! I was so excited! I didn't buy it, because, even at clearance it was still over 40.00 for a tank type shirt, so I passed because I knew I wouldn't get to wear it that long.
I used to love clothes shopping in my twenties... but after gaining so much weight, I moved to shoes and costume jewlery... a few weeks ago, I packed up a white trash bag FULL of shoes... and I still have over 50 pairs left.
I need something new to concentrate on, shoes are not an issue anymore!

Honestly Victoria's Secret for me was a big non scale victory. I shop there now because I can.
Same thing with Lucky Brand Jeans.
After my first 60lbs lost, my husband dragged me in there kicking and screaming. I still had 90lbs to lose and thought there is no way in hell anything in here will fit me. I just had this idea in my head that I wasn't really getting smaller. My head was not connected to the rest of me. LOL.
Well, I tried on that first pair of lucky brand jeans in a size 16 and they were too big for me. I was shocked given I was in a 24 at lane Bryant. I lose weight off my butt, legs and feet first.
Anyway, just realizing how much weight you have truly lost by trying on clothes made it so motivating for me to get to goal.
It was never about clothes for me, it was about health so I was shocked at how much I love trying on clothes in all differently styles now. I did it all along my weight loss journey and everytime I did it motivated me to keep going.
- who knew I would love clothes shopping. Now i have to be careful because I go into a mall and I want to look at everything. I used to hate clothes shopping and the mall especially.

I think I can definitely agree with these goals. I would however add - Look at myself in a full length mirror without crying.

4:take up rollerblading again last time was when I was 9!!!
5: be able to walk and run without getting out of breath
6: be able to take full body pix without hidding myself
7: be able to shop at Victoria secrets and not lane Bryant anymore
8: go horse back riding
9: go hiking
10: enjoy life to the fullest no holding back!!!
