So here is a short version of my WLS story....I got the Lap band put in, in 2007. I went to a surgeon that was only in it for the money and he eventuaflly ended up running from the law and having multiple law suits against him. My band has never worked right. I lost around 20lbs due to not being able to eat or even drink water. My band has been completely empty since about 6 months after I had it put in. Even the smallest amount of fill put in my band makes me unable to drink fluids. I still have my band in but, I will hopefully be having it removed and getting a revision to the Duodenal Switch. Here is where I am at on getting the revision....I went to the siminar in February 2016. I have completed my 6 months of supervised dieting and all of the other lengthy list of things required by my insurance. I have also already picked out and met with my Bariatrics surgeon. Now I am just waiting for approval from my insurance company so my surgeon can set a date for my surgery.I have been following these forums for months now. This is the best source of information available on the Internet in my opinion. Thank-you to everyone who takes time out of their lives to post on here. It really does help so many people like myself along the way to make the decision weather or not WLS is the right choice for them or not. All the stories good and bad have been very informative. I hope to get to know a lot of you all better. I am very eager to be able to bring my experience of my struggles and success to these forums and hopefully be able to help someone else out like you all have done for me.
