Don't they use a bougie to measure during surgery?

I wish I had known that the first five months would be terrible. I was a special case in that I was super nauseas for that time and no meds worked so I really just didn't eat - but I would still do it again- but I was not prepared for that

Sounds like you have a ton of restriction. Drinking is not going to make you feel a lot of restriction- the further you get out from surgery the more you can drink. If applesauce makes you feel full then there is no problem.

    I drink carbonation

I don't usually do the drinking thing

I eat more than three meals a day because those three meals are so tiny

This seems like a fad. Like going and getting a wrap to make you lose five pounds. I know what they are and what they do- but we just all paid 14000( or I did ) to make a real change and get a tool that is majorly effective. One of my fav things about this surgery to me is that I am not Falling for and spending money on things that more than likely won't be a lasting answer

tenseintexas got a reaction from njgal in What did your doctor say about you having surgery?
My general doctor was actually the one who said he thought it would be great for me... that was so shocking to me- I never thought anyone else saw me as really large until that day!

I don't have too much to add
    I am so so sorry.
I will say I did great free surgery- until 8 weeks and I went downhill . From 8-14 weeks I was super nauseas and ate very very very little. Like maybe 3-500 calories a day. Everything made me so grossed out and sick. I didn't feel fat anymore but I felt sick-- and that was worse.
This week it has turned around and I am feeling so much better. Yours sounds more serious than mine- I am so sorry. I wish you had more support at home and home that you get enough support here!!!

I weighed 201 at my initial 4 hour meeting- I am
Self pay and don't have to go to Mexico ( someone above said that I
Think) anyway- I have had the same concerns as you, but my doctor thought it was the best idea. It's painful when people
Tell you that you aren't big enough to do this surgery. My doctor certainly thought so. Good luck. My surgery is august 15

Really??? I just can't imagine doing that if I really loved my partner. Maybe it is just me but marriage is for better or worse so you have to be willing to give some things up and sacrifice if it is in the best interest of the one you love.

tenseintexas got a reaction from I AM NOT MY SIZE in Kinda Worried
I was 5'4 - 212 and had zero weight related issues ( cholesterol but since losing almost all my weight it actually went up - hereditary) A my doctor told me I was about as "small " as he would do surgery on but that my BMI fit the criteria. My insurance didn't pay but it was worth every penny. Good luck to you.

Ugh I am so sorry. I really struggled with nausea for about 4-5 months. No meds worked. It will get better. I often was shocked that I was still upright as little as I ate and drank!

My BMI was 36 and I weighed 212 at surgery time. I weigh about 151 right now. I am one year and one week out . It's been very successful to me. I am not that interested in food which is pretty magical. People told me - well you only have 50-70 pounds to lose you can do it- and I tried- for almost 30 years ( I am 40) - and it didn't work. I am very happy I did it .
I have about 1200 calories a day and work out at least four times a week.

I eat lots of little meals. I know that this is not totally Recommended- but I still have such little room for food a year out. I am hungriest in the am and always eat eggs or Cereal . Then eat a few nibbles for lunch- again at like three - and then small dinner
