  1. Think of what you have gone through to get here, the reasons you have come so far, and the things you want out of the surgery. Look at before and afters. I get being nervous but don't forget what brought you here. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. Depends on the person but I eat spicy all the time.
  3. You won't be carrying him. 14 yo on crutches. He'll be fine. So y'all uber if you have an appt the first week.
  4. Shouldn't be a problem if you didn't gain. I have Cigna.
  5. That's a lot of people on this forum. Be sure to discuss your eating issues with your surgeon to determine the best surgery for you. But the surgery is not just restrictive. It also gets rid of most of your hunger. That may not be enough with emotional or compulsive eating but for me it's been as important as the restriction so far. Good luck. 6. You're doing great. I've found the surgery is not about losing fast as much as it is about losing consistently. Stick with it.
  7. I had a 3 month supervised diet. First appt was April 11 and I was sleeved on Aug 4.
  8. Drink a Protein shake in the morning on the way to work. Eat a Dannon Light and Fit Greek Yogurt around 10:00 Eat 2-3 oz of chicken or turkeys around 1:00 Eat about 2-3 oz pouch of tuna around 5:00 Eat about 2 oz protein with some roasted veggies around 8:00 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Just don't want any. That's much different than pre-surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. It's high carb so a Soup built of that and cream may not be your best choice. At the same time Penn Gillette lost 100 lbs on a potato and salad diet in like 3 months. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. Weighed 298 the day I got home from surgery on August 5. I'm down to 250 in under 3 months.
  12. At that point, we were directed to eat 1/4 to 1/3 cup per meal. 5-6 meals per day.
  13. If you're eating 300 calories of chicken breast then you're eating about 10 oz unless it's fried. I don't think that's possible. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. Jess - your stats give me hope this is a very good thing. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. I used to love food. I always wanted to eat the best of everything when we would eat and I cooked new things all the time. I'm almost three months out and I am constantly eating the same things. Don't get me wrong, I don't find eating to be a chore right now. And some of it is wanting to make the right choices. But, somehow it seems like my head has been reprogrammed to not care about eating like I used to. I would have no problem wasting money or time for a small portion of something good now, but I just haven't had the desire to do it. I see a lot of people with temptation from the start so clearly not everyone is like this. Any others out there experiencing this? I'm fine with it. Seriously. Just curious of others. And if you're long sleeved, does it ever revert back? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. Ah. I started Metamucil within 2 weeks, maybe sooner. I am pretty sure my doc told me I could immediately. Gas has not been a problem w the chili though. Not eating that much. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. I am almost three months out and I have been eating vegetarian chili regularly for almost two months.
  18. Were they up prior to surgery? It goes hand in hand with fatty liver. Mine have returned to normal just months after surgery. They will probably do an ultrasound to confirm. Hope it's all ok.
  19. Come back to it in a month. That and turkey breast are over half of my diet.
  20. Take the long view. If you follow the plan, you will lose the weight. I have weighed every single day since Aug 4, and I have worried. It's not worth obsessing over. It will come off, commonly in a stair step fashion. One week you will lose 7 lbs, and then the next you won't budge. Start trying on clothes. That's better than the number on a scale anyway.

  22. The only thing you will probably welcome me saying is that I am so sorry about what you have been through. I couldn't imagine waking up to that. I had scared myself silly over the liver shrinking and the possibility of waking up without having the surgery completed. That said, you're just over the typical BMI for insurance approval. No one here would suggest that it will be easy, or we wouldn't be getting surgery to overcome our weight problems, but you really aren't so far gone that you cannot lose the weight on your own. I know that wanting to add to the family is a very strong motivator. I know that wanting to reduce the daily pains of being heavy is a strong motivator. It all still comes down to calories in vs. calories out. Heal up and get on with it. None of this is for nothing. Best of luck.
  23. I was back after one week. You never know about complications, but if there are none, you should be feeling fine to do that type of work.
  24. I had the same reaction after coming off of lisinopril. It's a good thing. Congrats on the new start.
  25. Any chance you came off a diuretic bp med? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
