  1. Its been awhile since I've been in this site. To answer the question, they're great at maples.I really like the doctors and the dietitian is nice. Jen is great at the clinic she answers all or gets your questions answered. After the surgery you have the doctors pager numbers if you need them,Jen is available most times. I've even e-mailed with the doctors a couple of times when I had some issues. Over all its been great I didn't start loosing weight as soon as I had hoped, but I have started now so I feel better.I had my surgery in feb. Its been 3or4 fiills now and I'm going for another next week. I really hope that a group starts soon because I'm not that good on the computer and don't get to much time for it either. Anyways I guess thats about it,best of luck in your decision!
  2. Hi I am not claiming till next year, but will do what doddie63 said and hope for the best. good luck!
  3. Thanx thats a relief. My doctors did the fill without xray,I have inquired about that and they resure me its fine without that if there's problems then it is needed. Is that normal also?
  4. Wow I was glad to read what everyone was saying I was wondering what I was going to feel too. I was told I didn't need to go on fluids at all after the fill just chew lots and take small bites. It was actually in the evening so they just said take it easy tonight. My problem is I don't really feel any different. He said it is 3 cc now,I can't wait till my next fill cause I don't feel any restriction. Is that normal?
  5. Hi I'm going to my first fill tomorrow and I was wondering if it hurts,or do they use freezing,I heard its harder on your first fill because haven't lost a lot of weight yet and the port may be more difficult to find?:Dancing_wub:
  6. Hi I was banded By Dr. Andrew and Dr. Bracken together in winnipeg, manitoba
  7. Hi if distance is a factor Manitoba isn't to far and now its available in winnipeg 16,000. plus tax
  8. Hi I can't claim til next year,I was just wondering what i need to claim. Is just the receipt enough,or do I need a letter from the doctor/surgeon?
  9. Hi I'm not sure where in Alberta you mother-in-law was,but there is a Dr. Farries in Red deer who does by-pass and he told me that lap-band may be better for me. He was going back and forth to edmonton too .To practice Laproscopy bypass so I'm sure there's lots of doc's in edmonton that are educated in both surgeries too.J
  10. They just started this in January at the maples surgical center. There is 2 Doctors Andrew and Bracken. What doctor were you seeing?
  11. actually I'm from winnipeg so was happy to stay here. Just would like to find out how/if possible to get it reinbursed. When I was looking at the other message about cbc checking where is available it said it was covered in manitoba but they weren't doing it here.
  12. Hi I was on the list for bypass in saskatoon for last march when the called me to tell me the Doctor retired due to health issues and to find someone else because his partner couldn't keep up. Then I heard the stopped it completely in saskachewan. Two weeks ago I recieved a letter that they're starting some new weight loss program in regina if I was interested. Of course since then I've been banded 8 days ago in winnipeg!
  13. was that in canada or states? I looked for adult tylenol for when I just have a headache and I had to get junior(2 bottles) you want 1000 mg is equivalant to 2 extra strength and junior is like 160 a pill 6.25 junior chewables lol
  14. Hi I have just been banded in winnipeg! I'm very excited I had to pay 17,500 . Then I was looking at a linq that said manitoba covers it ? I was soposto go to red deer in april for bypass ,but changed my mind and had it here to be close to my doctor and family. Does anyone know how can I get reimbursed for this if it is true it is covered. I went in debt for a few years for this and if there is any hope of getting my money back our dream of a better home....
  15. I just was banded a week ago. It was not covered and am in debt for a couple of years. Bypass is covered but not done in my province so I'd have to travel away from my family. So decided to stay here near my family and the doctor that does the procedure too. I feel that it is safer and the healthier way to go.Just will be tighter in my stomach and pocket:lol:. Anyway I'm doing okay its just the staples are driving me nuts.Forgot to ask about that would have much preferred stitches seeing as I go back to work before they come out:ohmy:. Does anyone one else have pain when they hiccop and berp, its not unbearable I just wonder if I can do something to help stop it or lesson the pain a little. My shoulder and neck are still sore, they told me some people get that after surgery from the carbon dioxide they put in your stomach?,I don't get it? I'm pretty excited about my future and all the fun and energy I will have with my kids and my husband can't wait til summer or next year this time!
