Armygalbonnie got a reaction from queendeborahbee in Do you use this?
I have it and used it one time to order off of the kid's menu. Most of the time I just order from the regular menu, because my husband will eat my leftovers. The food never goes to waste. I don't like drawing attention to myself, so that's why I just order from the regular menu. I've been selective in who I have told about my surgery, so I don't want to have to explain why I need a smaller portion. I never over eat, so the temptation is not there. My sleeve definitely tells me when I'm full.

I definitely wouldn't handle it by eating Cookies. That is going to sabotage your weight loss efforts. Try the SF popcycles or pudding and see if that will help curb your cravings. How about greek yogurt? This is where you are going to have to buckle down and really use your willpower. That's the things about WLS, a chocolate chip cookie still smells and tastes like a chocolate chip cookie. We have to find ways to resist the urge. Good luck

I met with the registered dietitian this last week. She said people are often told to eat waaaay too much Protein. Even though I have to focust on Protein first, she said for a woman, my goal is 65g. Only 6'+ men should be eating 100g. Just a thought.

Armygalbonnie got a reaction from Sleeved_G in 1 month post-op & I had alcohol. I want experienced feedback please!
You increase your risk for ulcers with alcohol. I'm 4 months out and took a few sips of alcohol the other night and each sip burned. That's the last time I will do that for a long time. Alcohol is not worth the risk of damage.

I lost 8 lbs the first 2 weeks and then didn't lose any the next 2 weeks. It's called a stall. I am now 4 months out and I have had as many weeks of stalls as weeks of losing weight. It's part of the process. 20 lbs in 2 weeks is a HUGE amount of weight loss!!! You HAVE to be patient. I am 4 months out and I've lost almost 70 lbs. It's worth the patience.

Armygalbonnie got a reaction from jules50 in How are you eating at 7 months out ?
It can all be very confusing!! Are you still trying to lose weight or are you at maintenance? I think that will make a huge difference. You are right that it's hard to find options that are both low in carbs and fats. Sometimes we have to create our own recipes. I saw one recently that looks really good, that might help you with your taco craving. I saw where someone took cheddar cheese and spread it out on parchment paper. They put it in the microwave and melted it. Then they laid the melted cheese on the paper, over an upside down bowl. The cheese hardened and formed like a bowl. After it hardens, fill the "cheese bowl" with all the ingredients used for a taco. I'll see if I can find the recipe and attach it. I was sleeved on Nov 1st and on that day, my BMI was lower at 33. I lost 27 lbs the 2 months before surgery and I've lost 33 since. A total of 60. I weigh again on Saturday. I think it's been slow post-op but I have to stop and look at the big picture. I'VE LOST 60 LBS and I'M ONLY 25 LBS FROM GOAL!!! Yes!!!!!

Armygalbonnie got a reaction from bossportsgal in 5.5 weeks out and all of a sudden full feeling is gone!!?!
This is all normal. The swelling has subsided. Like mentioned above, yogurt will go down easily. That's why it is often allowed during the liquid phase. Once you start eating more solid foods, you will feel the restriction more. Also, some days you will feel fuller quicker than others. I will measure out 3 oz of meat. Some days I can eat all of it and think I could probably eat more. Other days I can't even eat 2 oz. This is why I measure everything I eat! When I get too full or eat too quickly, I always get the hiccups. I can use my sleeve as a guide most of the time, but not all of the time. Measure, measure, measure.

Not too bad for a 53 year old G-Ma, who was morbidly obese just 3 months ago. Now I'm just overweight and 20 lbs from being within my ideal weight range. I want to lose about 25 more.

I hear ya! I'm finally getting to a place in my weight loss, that I'm not ashamed to have my picture taken. Now don't get me wrong, I still try to pose in certain ways that accentuate my positives and cover my negatives. I feel like I will always be a little insecure.

On the 17th of October 2016 I had my gastric sleeve operation ... And it's the best decision I ever made even through all the ups and downs I look where I am now and know it was the right choice .. Before surgery I weighed 266lbs I now weigh just over 196lbs . It's never been easy but 100% worth it !

I agree, it is hard to watch others lose faster. I avg between 1-2 lbs a week now and it's been like that since my 2nd month after surgery. I do know I am losing inches because I keep having to go down in clothes size. I'm not eating anything/everything I want and honestly, I hope I will stay this careful the rest of my life, because I feel so much better having healthy food in my body. It's not to say that I won't allow myself a slice of pizza or birthday cake every once-in-awhile but it's not the norm. Try to not compare yourself to others. We all have different body shapes, ages, metabolism. I'm in my 50's now and I started with a lower BMI, so I know I will lose slower. Now that I am within 20 lbs of goal, it will even get slower. I anticipate it will take me 3 or 4 more months to lose this last weight. Good luck with your journey. Just persevere and you will be successful
