Do you use this?

I didn't have to ask for one, mine came in my surgery booklet, but if your bariatric team hasn't given you one, I highly recommend you asking for one. Especially if you are at the beginning of your journey and worrying about eating out. This has come in handy many times, does anyone else use theirs if you do have something like this?

I have one, but haven't used it! Didn't even read it until just now! When have you had to use it?

My surgeon's office gave me a card similar to yours. I have not used it because I can usually order something from a menu and either take home half (or more!) or just get a small portion. I have also ordered from the children's menu but usually there are only fried foods or high carb foods for kids. I usually tell the server to not even bring the potato/rice/starch so I have meat with a vegetable. A lot of times they will give you extra veg since you aren't getting the starch. If you are pleasant about ordering, restaurants want to make you happy.

I have it and used it one time to order off of the kid's menu. Most of the time I just order from the regular menu, because my husband will eat my leftovers. The food never goes to waste. I don't like drawing attention to myself, so that's why I just order from the regular menu. I've been selective in who I have told about my surgery, so I don't want to have to explain why I need a smaller portion. I never over eat, so the temptation is not there. My sleeve definitely tells me when I'm full.

Yea I'm the same as all of you, I do still order off the normal menu most of the time and take the left overs home, but there is this one place by me that me and my family love but they are just so extremely expensive that I don't wanna pay $40 anymore for a dish that now I can't finish, so I use the card there to order off the kids menu haha because they aren't very nice when I just ask so I do gotta use the card there to get them to let me, so I do think the card is great for certain situations and I've talked to about 5 people whose team didn't give them a card! So I was curious who has one and who doesn't and how often you actually use it

I usually order from the starter menu. No one bats an eyelid.

On the rare occassion I have had to order from the mains, I usually take whats left home and will have it the next day for lunch. If we are going to a new place, I tend to check the menu before going.

The card is a good idea though :)

I order whatever I want and take home the rest or give it to my husband and kids.

I can't think of a situation when I'd want to eat of the kids' menu.
