Things are good. I'm just sick of these liquids lol. I can manage colder drinks now, where initially it would cause me pain. I still get tired quickly and lightheaded if I do too much walking or standing. My bariatric partner says its normal because my calorie intake is soooo much lower. She says sip sip sip all day if I have to. As much as I need to. Just stay hydrated. I feel myself getting better and stronger each day. I'm using the bathroom good, even though I'm not eating. Who knew lol.

Looking forward to my 2 week post op appt so I can move on to the next two week diet which will be full liquids But at least I'll be able to have more things. I'll be on puréed/soft diet weeks 5 & 6. I'm bored, but I'm starting to appreciate the pace. Don't want to do too much too soon, allowing me to heal properly and get my new stomach used to this new life

My surgeon had the nurse put it on me the day I was discharged.

I would suggest you do as your surgeon said. I've been reading so many things here and trying different stuff and hating it. Just to call my NUT/bariatric partner and talk with her, going right back to his plan and I actually feel better. Our new stomachs are still healing so we need to be careful and do as what's been instructed for us. It's so hard and I'm extremely bored with this liquid diet, but then I think of the reasons I chose my particular surgeon and will follow his instructions.

  3. I'm on clear liquids and I am to aim for 32 oz of skim milk for weeks 1 and 2. Weeks 3 & 4 will be full liquids. This is what my surgeon has his sleeve patients do. They are more concerned with hydration and not doing too much too soon I guess, with the stomach being swollen and still healing. I was sleeved a week ago today and have lost 16 lbs since.

  4. I had completely the opposite reaction. I lived (and still do lol) on sugar free Popsicles. I wasn't hungry at all but felt like I needed something and that hit the spot. I am 17 days out now and can eat puréed foods now but I still don't ever feel hungry. It's more like eating on a schedule.

sugar free Popsicles are a life safer! What else did you have the two weeks after pre-op?

My surgeon want me to aim for at least 32 oz of milk daily, in addition to 32 oz of clear liquid, which I get from Water, sugar free Popsicles, Jello, broth, strained Soup, decaffeinated herbal tea. I tried the Atkins Lift lemonade for more Protein, but I don't like it at all. I have another week of this before I see my surgeon for my post op follow up.

  5. I had my surgery on the 6th and I have had a really easy time of it. Surgery went great, I had no gas pains, or sore throat I have no problems drinking or eating anything I don't know if this is normal or not by reading this it seems like people are having a rough time but maybe they just post more than the people that it went smooth. You guys let me know your experiences

I had gas pains, but I'm good now. I cannot drink anything too cold and if I don't sip, it hurts. I'm still getting light headed when I stand or walk too long. My BP isn't low though. Other than that, I feel great. Today makes one week since my surgery. Oh and I still have stomach soreness and swelling, but my surgeon has me wearing a binder.< /p>

  6. @FIGal78 no problem! I don't want to become obsessed with the scale, so I can't wait until I get to feeling more like myself. I still get lightheaded if I stand or walk too long. Going up a flight of stairs in my house still makes me tired. BP not low. Just pacing myself until my post op appt. next Thursday.

Oh I changed my name too lol

  7. Just thinking how last week this time, I was preparing myself to be at the hospital at 5:30 am on Friday, June 17th. One week down and many more to go. I don't regret my decision, but I surely cannot wait to get to the soft food diet. Taking my granddaughters to Disney in two weeks. Will be the first time I can't have a turkey drumstick lol. I know I'll be find though. Not interested in cheating when I know what food tastes like. I'm just ready to be off of meds, free of joint pain and living a more active lifestyle with my family.

  8. I started using natural oils few years back so we have raw shea butter and pure coconut oil (for hair and body) and moroccan argan oil for my face and feet at night. My skin is so much softer and moisturised, and my wife says i smell delicious. Lol

Avocado oil, Jamaican castor oil, coconut oil, Shea butter, and Moroccan oil all whipped together is great on the hair.

  9. I'm stalling weight wise. I'm not digging Protein shakes when it's 113 degrees outside. I need advice. Please tell me how I can continue losing weight when I continue tittering in place. Help!!!

Is it the Protein Shakes in general, or do you need more ideas for the Protein Shakes. I can't wait until I can have Protein shakes. They're so tasty and refreshing to me.
